Adventure Fiction Funny

It was the best of the worst and the worst of the best. It came as a shock to one and to all. It was felt from the little people and felt by the bigger little people.

It was the end of an era. It was the beginning of an end. Yet it was more than less and less than more. It was an era of false, and the truth was still in the running.

The beloved character, Mr. Pumpkin, was an iconic TV and stage personality, with Mr. Dutch and several other characters, had seen each other through the best and worst of times. Bad ratings and low self-esteem had plagued the whole crew. The changing of characters meant to last for at least a good ten-year running, were known by one and all. It was the children of yesteryear who now had families of their own to pass on this children's show, down to their own children, in hopes that they too could enjoy it.

It was not known to many about that idea of switching the now aging Peter Knowles, who had done the character for at least 20 years maybe more and they wanted to allow him to retire with his dignity remaining.

Peter was never one to like children, and in the few interviews he stated so. In the interactions he had with children were like a man who was more at home with adults than with children. Stemming from an abusive childhood, Peter had decided to not allow himself the comforts of home, to never be married and just live life as a bachelor. This was not to be the case of course.

In the early days of the children's show, it was apparent that Peter was being led to the idea of marriage and met one of the fellow actors, who was 5 years his junior. It was love at first sight and Peter was not known to turn down a possible rating booster. On the show, he asked for Ms. Trotter's hand in marriage, which she gladly accepted. She was not aware of the unfortunate things that would happen, when in her dressing room, she was found strangled to death with a note attached, "I did not know that Peter never loved me, and now I shall remove myself from his life completely."

Peter was devastated at the thought of Sally taking her own life, which an investigation ensued. Peter was cleared of any wrongdoing, which the real culprit was Sally's jealous brother Bartus. He had been jealous of Sally rise to fame and fortune, while he was left as a fill-in actor, doing different parts on the show, which he had been on since he was 10 years old.

Peter was not lonely for long. He met and was smitten by Ms. Apricot, with whom he also asked for her hand in marriage. Jena was too found later in her dressing room, the same one Sally was strangled in, and Jena was also strangled with a note, "I am not sure how much more I can take, as the pain that was revealed to me by Peter, was nothing less of insane."

Peter was once again cleared of any wrongdoing, and it was still under investigation at this writing. It was found that the assistant stagehand was to blame, a cousin, Oliver Otter, who had been also jealous of Jenas rise to fame and fortune. It was later found that a second cousin was involved, as Jena was large, framed person and both had to hold her up while they strangled her.

Peter was about to give up hope, when he met a Ms. Turkle, with whom he asked for her hand in marriage. Sendra was more than surprised at the idea, but at first refused. It was huge blow to Peter's ego, and he walked away devastated. Sendra later was asked a second time and still refused. Peter was beside himself with two refusals.

When they were at their favorite restaurant, she was crying and kissed in between breathless "Yes, yes, yes, I will marry you." Sendra was heading back to the theater stage that was the set of the children's show, when a tall, dark, shadowy figure stood out by the streetlight. Knife in hand, braided cord in the other hand, Peter was going to be sure he was caught with as much evidence that would end his 3 times disastrous run of killing off the women he had asked to marry him.

Of course, the man that stood before Sendra was not Peter but her ex, of 5 years, Johnathen Woods. John had been jealous of Sendra's rise to fame and fortune, making it known he knew how she had obtained her position on the children's show. He bludgeoned her to death with braided cord, then tying her up afterwards, found several stones nearby, tying on off, to be used to weigh her down in the sewage system.

Peter was passing by. John was about to leave when he saw Peter, about to enter and head into the theater rear stage door. Peter put up a good fight, taking some serious cuts and bruises which allowed to endure more pain than most. Peter was found later in the same sewage system, with braided cord tied around is bloody body.

They were found together, and they seemed to be together at long last. The newspaper read of the harrowing experience, as described in detail by the few witnesses that had seen the crime take place. Even though no specific details or the identities of the witnesses were given, John had known who the ones were and made them victims of a crime instead of being witnesses. They too were removed so the police had no one to speak out about his crimes.

The last thing that took place was that John was very distraught about the whole matter, and when the police arrived at his place of residence, a boarding house in the Urban suburb of Whiteless Falls, all they found was him strangled, hanging from a large beam in his room. The braided rope was tied around the body, with a note attached, "I cannot lie, I watched them die, I don't want to fry or hang from sky, with this I cannot lie." "I Did IT." So Long Mr. Pumpkin Head."
