“Where am I?” whispered Marcus as he looked around the room. But all he could see was just his study room, all was normal overall but something was off about the whole room. Marcus couldn’t put his finger on it as he looked around the well furnished room. Marcus, in the conor of his eyes, sees a picture of his food shelter. He remembers that he took that picture when it was the grand opening of his food shelter. As he reminisces about it, he realizes he can’t remember how he got to this room. He gets up from his chair and walks to the door and notices there was writing on it.

“THERE IS NO END” was written on the door with a dark red substance that smelled like dried blood. Marcus was now panicking as he wondered what was going on. He looked around and looked through the room and found some newspapers talking about some serial killers’ latest kill. That being another homeless man, being the 30th victim of The Night Stalker. Marcus just took a quick glance at it and just kept looking until he found a key. THe key was just a normal looking key, in fact, it looked like his own door key. He takes it to the door and without his input turns by itself and reveals itself a hallway.

The hallway had a table stand with a picture of Marcus at a building surrounded by people in suits. Marcus walks to the stand and picks up the picture stand. “I remember this, It was the 5th year anniversary of the food shelter. Man, I remember so many people came around for the opening, even the mayor came over to see it. Good times”. As Marcus looked at the photo with joy, he saw there was writing on the wall. The moment Marcus took a glance at the writing, the door to the room behind shut with a great slam, which made him jump forward, hitting the small table, causing it to fall on the ground.

“What the hell was that!?” Marcus exclaimed as he look around the hallways two sides. When he saw nothing, he got up and is now more visibly scared, but felt like this has happened before. He then reads the writing on the wall, “FIND THE 3 ITEMS, THEY ARE SCATTERED AROUND BUT YOU WILL KNOWN WHEN YOU FIND THEM. THEY WILL SET YOU FREE.” Marcus, for some reason or another, understood the instructions and chose which side he would go to, he decided to go left as it was his favorite direction. He walked though the hallways, which were quite illuminated by the outside but everytime he tries to look outside he only sees a repeating outside. Where it seemed like everything was copy and pasted to every window. He tried to punch his way out but no matter how hard or what he used, the glass would not break at all. He gave up on the idea of trying to break out the glass and just kept walking in the hallway.

He soon gets into an open room, similar to his living room but with many things that he doesn’t recognize. When he entered the living room he saw one of the Items, his cooking knife. And once he picks it up he felt something shift in the air, like he wasn’t alone any more but when he tried to look around he saw nothing at all. Marucs gaze at the knife and remembers how well it can cut though meat, he made so many great meals to feed everyone at the shelter. He remembers how much he loved cutting meat. How easy it was to simply slice it to have the perfect portions to make a meal with.

Marcus then continued to keep on walking with the knife in hand, as he felt something watching him. As he walks he keeps thinking what is going on. He can’t remember what he did before he woke up but still remembers many other things like his food shelter and how to cook a good meal with meat. He wonders if the shelter is alright but now he needs to focus on himself. “Why, why is this happening to me, what did I do to deserve this?” Marcus whispered to himself as he continued to walk though the hallway and soon he spotted a door.

When he opened it wasn’t locked. He soon enters the room and immediately smells of rotten meat but this doesn’t affect Marcus as he walks in. Marcus looks around to see blood stain walls but no bodies anywhere. In fact the blood doesn’t seem to be from bodies drop in the room but from the walls within the room itself. Marcus entered the room and looked around to see it, though bloody was very well decorated. He, somehow, already knew where the second item was. He opens the drawer and he sees a newspaper clipping of the death of a homeless man named Baren Wui, a regular of the food kitchen. He was killed at the dead of night where he was not at his usual spot but instead there was blood at the spot. The body was never found and everyone at the food shelter made a memorial for him. Marcus remembers how everyone was saddened by his death, he was a loved member of the community after all. But Marcus didn’t feel so sad for his death, he moaned at the man and he placed flowers on the memorial but he felt something different then sadness, the opposite in fact.

Before Marcus could dwell on the thought more he heard something, it was a voice and he knew, It was Baren’s voice. “Hey Maarcus, old paaaalll, How YOu BeEN?”. Macus did not move a single muscle once he heard the voice, but the voice didn’t stop talking as it grew closer. “MArcuus? WHaat’s wrong, Old PAAAL, How’s theFood SHelTer, YOu, NEED any help.” The voice then stops for a minute. It was the longest that Marcus ever experience. The voice came back in a whisper but it was Marcus’ voice in a low rumbling whisper. “I recommend that you run, I’ll give you a ten second head start. Ten, nine, eig-”. The moment that Marcus saw an opening at the door he ran faster than he ever ran in his life away from the voice though the hallway. As he ran he could still hear the voice clearing counting down and the moment the voice reached one Marcus ran even faster than ever before. As Marcus ran he heard stomping from behind him that’s rapidly approaching him, with there being a distorted low screams of multiple people. This made Marcus shed tears of pure fear as his adrenaline kept him running at full speed.

As he ran for what felt like ten minutes but was actually just one, he saw a door up ahead and he slammed through the door and immediately closed it and blocked it up with a bookshelf and a chair and everything in the room. There was no slamming and the thumping and screaming went away. Marcus crumpled on the floor and tears started to fall and he threw up on the carpet. “WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT?!, OH GOD, OH GOD.” Marus cries on the floor as he grapples with what just happened, “Why God WHY?! What did I do to deserve this hell? I’m a good man, I feed the poor and all out of my good heart so why, why am I here?”.

Marcus wanted to cry but he knew that if he stayed put that monster would come and kill him or worse. When he checked around the room to see what he could use he found a drawer and in it was a 6 shot revolver, with only 3 shots to be used. This was the third and final item he needed. Marcus then realized that he forgot to pick up the 2nd item as he had to run for his life. Marcus explores the room and sees it was a copy to the first room he was in at the beginning. But it was very disturbing as there were photos of the 30 people which Marcus knew, people who had work or ate at the food kitchen. Marcus ignored the photos and he headed to the door after he unblocked it. He then had his gun pointed in front of him. On the door the word, “WHY?” is carved in the door but he ignores it as he opens the door ready to shoot.

The moment he opened the door, the smell of meat assaulted his nose. This smell was that of sweet roasted meat, pork to be more exact but that wasn’t much on Marcus’ mind now. As he walks though the hall as he points his gun at every dark area as he moves forward. As he does he hears thumping coming from behind him, he turns and shoots, hitting the monster. The monster screamed multiple voices, from men, women and even children. The monster retreats into the darkness with quick speed as Marcus moves forward as he moves back to the room where the newspaper was. As he moves the monster comes charge in but Marcus shoots another bullet and it retreats back into the darkness with wails of pain. Marcus is afraid but he knew if he got the 2nd item he missed he would have a chance, even if it’s small, to get out. To get out of this hell he found himself in. He quickens his pace as he only has one bullet left and as he sees the door he also hears the monster coming in his direction in front of him. He does a full sprint as the monster thumping becomes louder and just as he gets to the door he shoots his last bullet. The bullet hits its mark and the monster stops charging but marcus doesn’t wait to see his results. He charges into the room and grabs the newspaper clipping.

In a quick moment he wakes up in his bed all by himself. Marcus turned on the lights and turned around. “Oh my God, it was all just a dream, it was all just a dream” marcus said with great relief and happiness. Tho this happiness was short lived as he then heard a familiar voice in the darkness of his room that the light didn’t hit. “Oh, Marcus, this isn’t a dream, if it was then I wouldn’t be here now wouldn’t I?” The monster laugh as he countries to talk to a mortified marcus. “Marcus i must say im impressed, you only got this end-” in quick second marcus grabs his gun from his drawer and shoots the monster multiple times in the dark. There is then nothing but silence for 10 secs, and once Marcus thought he killed it finally. His face became pale once he heard a laugh, a genuine laugh of pure glee from the darknes. “Oh Marcus, that was hilarious, you think bullets, BULLETS, can kill me, let alone hurt me, they tickled me. But oh, let me continue what I was saying before you rudely interpreted me.” Marus was in pure fear and every time he opened his mouth nothing came out of his mouth as the monster began to talk.

“As I was saying, you impressed me Marcus, you only got out of that for the first time. But marcus let us be frank with one another. If I wasn’t following my rules then you would be dead by now. But i always follow my rules for the most part.” The monster said with much glee in its voice. Marcus got enough courage to ask one question, “Why am I here?”. Marcus felt the monster gaze on him as he followed the question. After a long moment between the two the monster finally spoke. “Why are you here? Marcus, it’s because you’re a bad man, a very very bad man. Oh and don’t start with that whole “I’m a good person bit alright” because you know what you did. You just like to block it out of your mind, either because you think you did nothing wrong or you love what you did. Either way Marcus, you’re never leaving this nightmare. For this nightmare is for all of eternity and I’m gonna love every second of it.”. Before Marcus could reply a snap of the fingers came after the monster finished what it had to say. Marcus then wakes up and says “Where am I?”.
