The kid who was nervous

Will had two weeks left before his high school graduation, all four years he has been dedicated to school, sports, and making his family proud. He lived in a big city where he knew a lot of people, mostly from school or sporting events. Will did not go out a lot if it weren’t those two events he was attending and this was because of how strict his parents were, he was only allowed to go to certain people’s homes if approved, parties were a pain to ask about because they would ask endless questions, and sleeping over, he didn't even bother to ask anymore. With only two weeks left before graduation, everyone was talking about at school was how tremendous John Meyer’s party was going to be this weekend, he knew this was the party to go to. 

  All week people were talking about the party in the lunchroom, between classes, and even in class. Will started to feel nervous about how big this party was going to be, he had not been a party since Junior year. Will's friends, Bryson and Seth started to ask him about it and asked if he was going, Will just went along with it and said yeah even though he still was not sure if he was going. They went on to talk about how the girls and everyone from even different schools would be there. Will was getting nervous for more reasons than just he has not been in the past year to any parties in a while. Most of his friends could do whatever they wanted, and their parents still would not care, or they would not get in trouble, that wasn't the same case for Will. 

          Will had four parents, his Mom and Dad got divorced when he was about Seven, they both remarried years after. All of Will's parents were involved in his life and were pushing him to do right, be successful, and to respect them, which meant follow their rules. His parents really did not like him going to parties because they knew what happens at parties and they wanted to keep Will from the bad things that happen at parties. This was the last party in high school though, he knew he needed to ask today if the party was tomorrow. He sat pondering in his room, planning he could tell his parents to make it seem the opposite of how the party was going to be. 

Will knock on his parents’ bedroom door and says, " Hey Dad, can I talk to you for a minute?"

Dad replies " Of course son, come in."

" Hey Dad, you know graduation is coming up and John Meyer is having a party at his house tomorrow, I was wondering if I could go with Bryson and Seth?' said Will.

 Dad replies; " First, are you all ready for graduation? Second, who is all going to be there? Third, who is John? Fourth and final question, why do you want to go?"

Will takes a minute to reply, he knows he needs to answer these well or he might not be allowed to go. 

" Yes, I am all ready for graduation, but I still need to study for my finals for next week. I heard most of the football team is going to be there, maybe some of the basketball team not too many people. John Meyer is our class president, his parents are both entrepreneurs, I heard the house is very impressive. I want to go because it is one of the last times ill be with all of my high school friends together.”

Will’s dad thinks long and hard with a stone cold look on his face and says “Ok, as long as you are ready for all of your finals you can go but you need to be home at a reasonable time. Do you need a ride there or back?”

Will replies with excitement “No, maybe just a ride home ill let you know, thanks Dad!”

           The next day Will was all ready for the party, he picked out his outfit the night before, light blue jeans slightly ripped, white and light blue striped shirt, and Icey all white Air Force Ones. He texted an abundance of people to see if they were going as well, it seemed like the whole school was going. Will makes sure to call both his parents to tell him he is on the way to the party, and he would send a text when Will and his friends arrived. After an anxious 45-minute drive up the mountain to reach the top house where John Meyer lived, they arrived. As soon as they walked in Will knew it was a mistake, a huge cloud of smoke smacked his nose as they walked in, overcrowded, someone was getting a tattoo right by the front door. They proceeded inside tried to act as if there was not an issue. They saw the usual at the party people hanging out drinking, playing games, people were even jumping off the roof into the pool. Will and his friends started having a better time as the night grew older. They were in the front room playing madden when suddenly a fight broke out in the main room, the crowd quickly grew around the two guys, Alex the Quarterback and Terrance the Safety from the football team fighting. As they are slugging each other back and forth, a ray of flashes on from phones from recording, people chanting each person to keep fighting quickly stops. Alex now has a handgun out pointed directly at Terrance’s head, the crowd that once loud as a band was now quieter than a mouse.

           Alex says with anger “You tried to humiliate me in front of everyone and now everyone will see this.”

Terrance pleads “Please you don’t have to do this!”

Will looked at his friends and said, “let’s get out of here now!”. They did no hesitation to go along with it, as the three boys are leaving as they reach the for the door “BAM” BAM” two gunshots go off. They all knew what happened and started sprinting for the car and pulled off burning rubber. They are driving back home, and all agree not to tell their parents what just happened. They had now just all been at the place where their friends just killed each other weeks before graduation, and in just the same amount of time all those people will be together on stage. The boys didn’t check the news to see what happened or if anyone got arrested, they assumed it was best to not know more than they already did. People wonder if he would kill him the next day for the same thing again, they say the answer to that is if they are a true killer or not.
