The Text

Reading the text again for the fifth time the detective knew that it had to mean something.

This generation puts everything in a text message instead of calling or writing a letter.

Detective Mark Stone was determined to solve this murder case; every life matters and he was determined to solve this murder.

Who could take someone life so carelessly and leave only a text message.

The only way that Detective Stone was going to find out is going back to the crime scene.

To called a gym a crime scene is one for the books but it's what it is says Detective Stone.

Arriving back at the crime scene Detective Stone shows his badge as he enters the gym.

"I thought this questioning concerning the murder of that high school student was over says the instructor".

"I'm sure you would like for it to be over but until I find the killer the case is still open said Detective Stone".

One of those cops thought John Michaels to himself; as head instructor he was responsible for all media and questioning concerning the gym image.

They had only been open for six months before that highschool jockey got murdered here.

They should done a background check on Phillip Paul's instead of his parents money and political status.

I guess that what been filfty rich can buy you everything said John Michaels to himself.

Instead he address the Detective Stone this way.

"As I stated in my text to you and the police department everything was left as you had it until you tell us otherwise".

"Even though you are costing me and my business money said John Michaels".

He wanted to slap him thought Detective Stone to himself but anyone who leaves a text instead of calling the police department couldn't have to many feelings.

Detective Stone thanks him instead a goes back into the crime scene.

Phillip Paul's had been battered to death with his own bat and that's was personal.

But the suspect were a thousand at least considering his life style with older women, teenage girls, and his gigolo on the side.

Detective Stone wonder how did he have the time to play baseball; but knew with today technology everything is possible.

Going over the scene Phillip Paul's was struck from behind with multiple blows to the head.

You only turn your back on people you trust or believe you can trust thought Detective Stone to himself.

As he walking through the crime scene his partner Betty Glade comes onto the scene.

Realizing he had company Detective Stone looks up to see his partner for last five years.

"How did you know I was here said Detective Stone"?

Not wanting to state the obvious Betty continue to work the scene.

"There got to be something we're overlooking said Detective Betty Glade".

Detective Stone felt the same way and the clue had to be here.

And that's when it hits him they had drain the ice bath that Phillip Paul's was in but what about the rest of them.

The speculation had been Phillip Paul's had came to gym on his own but what if he had been summoned there.

Speed dialing the CSI team Detective Stone waits for what he knew they would find.

Detective Alex John over the CSI team brings Detective Stone Phillip Paul's cell phone; which no one could find.

"Do you think you can get the phone to work again asked Detective Stone"?

"If we don't get it to work we will be able to tell you his last communication or text he made or received said Detective Alex ".

"That's all I'm hoping for said Detective Stone".

As the CSI team leaves the crime scene Detective Betty Glade asked her partner how did you know?

"Simple says Detective Stone no teenagers leaves home without their cellphone and for his parents not to be concerned was a red flag".

Betty couldn't disagree with that as they head back to the police station.

Waiting on the forensic report would be time consuming but it was worth the wait.

" What are you hoping for said Detective Betty "?

"Only a text from the murder who took a young boys life no matter how he lived it said Detective Stone ".

Receiving a phone call from the forensic lab Detective Stone and Betty heads downstairs.

"Good evening says Detective Alex John; I don't know if it's what you are hoping for but we did find a text"

And there it was a text from the Vice Principal Sharon Miller asking Phillip Paul's to meet her at the gym.

Showing other texts messages from the Vice Principal as well as sex texts Detective Stone had his killer.

Going to the high school for the last time Detective Stone and Betty goes into the Principal Office requesting to talk to Vice Principal Miller.

"Is there anything I can help you with asked Principal Aaron "

He only wished he could thought Detective Stone but Principal Aaron plate just gotten overloaded.

"No only Vice Principal Miller can help with this one said Detective Stone.

As he and Detective Betty heads towards her office.

Seeing the Detective heading towards her office Vice Principal Miller knew the cellphone had been found.

Telling her secretary she could leave now Vice Principal Miller waits for the Detective to enter the office before she speaks.

"So you found the cellphone says Vice Principal Miller ".

"It's what you killed him for says Detective Stone ".

"Only because he began to tell his friends about us and when they wouldn't believe him he told them he had proof".

"I was willing to share him and continue our relationship but he had to brag about he had authority in his bed".

"He wouldn't listen to reason or the fact that he was destroying my marriage and career said Vice Principal Miller".

"What was I supposed to do"?

"I had a career and a marriage to save said Vice Principal Miller".

Turning to Detective Betty Glade she address her question to her.

"You're a woman what would you have done asked Vice Principal Miller "?

"Well for starter's I wouldn't got caught; and you're under arrest said Detective Betty Glade ".
