There is no such thing as magic.
Have you ever stopped, really stop and think about what it is you want?
Really want.
Whay would you do to obtain what you think you want.
Really want.
A new car?
A new house?
A new boyfriend?
A new girlfriend?
Oh what a wicked web we weave when we intend to deceive.
What is is worth to you? The overwhelming desire to have what another person has? Is there such a thing as having anything or anyone that the heart desires?
At lease the book of all Books, tells us the narrow path to walk along so the noise of the naysayers and brain washers doesn’t permeate the mind, heart and soul.
It doesn’t so much take a village as a strong heart and mind and soul to just say,
’No.’
And, I for one, believe there is no such thing as magical potions, lotions or notions.
Superstitions, maybe apart of collective consciousness…..
Repetitive rituals or habits, most likely will alter the course of a thought provoker.
An ‘influencer’ if you dare.
Murmured chants of wishes until something in life changes is a draining and exhausting practice in futility.
Charming persona? Where do these make ups mostly live? The charming persona…..
The overwhelming desire to ‘latch’ on to another’s fortunate or fortunate-ness? Hunker into the recesses of a soul that believes what you may have you do not deserve. Hate of any kind is not condoned in the Old or New Testament of God’s honest following. In fact, He even wrote a book about it. The Bible is the oldest account of the best practices of honest living and treacherous paths and waters to navigate a life well lived.
Like a desperate snake charmer hopes to change minds and hearts of the weak-minded, insidiously attempting to exercise their so-called rights and employ God’s true words simply misses the point of honest spirituality. Magical practices simply go against the grain of God’s honest teachings of what is true and right and peaceful. The sounds of ‘nachash or lachash’ are not a part of His most high and intentional words and teachings of what it means to live and honest life. The hissing and the muttering, the hissing and the missing, although perhaps intended to change the mind, does not exist in the mind of a God-fearing individual. (bst)
If we stop and think bout it, each day any one human makes hundreds of decisions from the moment they open their eyes from a long night’s rest until they lay their heads back down at the end of the day. For another hopeful long night’s rest. Wishful thinking rest will come in one way or another.
During the awake cycles, we hope to do right by our neighbor, fellow man and the guy across the street.
Do we always? Do right? Probably not.
We may be tired.
We may be hungry.
We may be angry.
We may be hangry.
We may be jealous.
We may be joyous.
OOops. Today’s laundry list of happenings? Oops…. We lost it. We lost our ‘to do list’ for the day, so we punt. We forget to pray and take the easy way out and decide to walk… take a walk to clear our mind and come upon an enchanting flower, a hot car, an adorable young child, a handsome or beautiful woman or man. Distracting us so we avoid the hard work of going back and facing the person in the mirror.
We wish for what they have. Who they are.
Correction—Who we think they are. Within seconds a nemesis is borne and we become instantly confused between,
Right and Wrong.
1 Samuel 22:23. He says: ‘ Stay with me; don’t be afraid. The man who wants to kill you is trying to kill me too. You will be safe with me.’
1 Chronicles 10:13 He says: Saul dies because he was unfaithful to the LORD; he did not keep the word of the LORD and even consulted a medium for guidance.(bst)
Yikes!
Break out the tarot cards and start reading the tea leaves?
Wait! What?
For some, this is the magical way of the day.
Maybe just a hobby.
Okay.
God also teaches time and again about not passing judgment on our neighbor.
So enchanting are the enticements of not having to work for something, humans weaken. Go for the quick fix, the-tomorrow-before-today-mentality-of—-instant gratification. Distressed and hungry as in Isaiah 8:19-22, the human punts.
Moves the goal posts again, and again, and again, and again, (bst)
You see the point?
Consulting the ultimate Consultant on all things good and true and right is a good and true and right way to live a life of bonafide meaning. Witches on broom sticks are just witches on broomsticks.
The rest of the incantations and murmurs are just that,
Noise.
A distraction from the real deal.
Am I making a case for God? Nope. Enchanting magical wishes of cotton candy and endless fruit? Nope. That is not a worthy goal. I am imploring the ‘when-you-wish-upon-a-star’ folks to look past the twinkling sparkly distraction and realize there is a lot of work going on behind the scenes of a life well lived.
No short cuts.
Skip away from the jilted past to contend with a hard won victory after a lot of extended muck and mess.
Now that is magical.
Hard work defines a hard worker.
Being seized with the fear of a sorcerer or a snake—in Acts 19: 17-20 in His book—there is a proof positive story of some Jews and Greeks living in Ephesus confessing what they had done with magic beliefs, practiced sorcery. They denounced the magical by coming together and burning their scrolls together in public. When they calculated the value of the scrolls, the total came to fifty thousand drachmas. (bst)
For those that want to know: Fifty thousand drachmas is the equivalent of about $170.00 US dollars.
Doesn’t even come close to being worth the mind bending and brain washing of the loons and so-called wish-granters. Taking the easy way out of a tough time usually comes back to bite ‘ya.
Instant karma versus instant gratification. Now this IS a good question.
Life. Is a process.
A process of good and bad. Better and worse. Richer and poorer.
Until and when He calls us home—a reminder for us all—He does not have speed dial on his connective devices-just a heart, a soul and a DIY game plan.
Because He did the ultimate sacrifice for us.
I would not rely on any enchanting medium, lotion, potion or notion to come close to His courage.
