I'm Ruth, an editor from Manchester who lives and breathes fiction. As an editor, there's nothing I love more than helping a book reach its full potential. I've worked on so many amazing stories over my years in the publishing industry, and now I spend my time doing what I do best: working with authors to bring out the bestseller potential in their books.

I've spent my career in some of the best publishers in the UK, including Little, Brown Books and Bookouture, and I have worked across a wide variety of commercial genres, such as women's fiction, romance, psych thriller, cozy crime, historical, saga and even a few non-fiction titles! I've also had the pleasure of editing and publishing some truly brilliant authors, from debuts to international bestsellers, such as Deborah Rodriguez, Natasha Lester, Jenny Colgan, Soraya Lane, Ellie Midwood, The Great British Bake Off/The Great British Baking Show and many, many more.

As a developmental editor, I'd love to work with you to bring out the very best in your book. I will discuss in-depth how to strengthen your characters, fill any plot holes, deepen the emotion and deliver a gasp-out-loud twist. Or, if you feel as though your language could use a polish, I will provide a close line edit to make sure each sentence flows beautifully.

I have a reputation in the industry for incisive edits and impeccable author care, and I will always approach any project with this same high standard for communication and compassion. I know how daunting it can feel to have someone read your work, and I make a point to always work collaboratively with authors to ensure that you're pleased with the finished manuscript.
