Aimee Ashcraft

Aimee Ashcraft – Editor

An enthusiastic and dedicated editor. Specialties include romance, fantasy, and thriller. Let me bring a decade of experience to you!

Overview

I'm a former editorial director from Park, Fine & Brower Literary Management with an enduring love for fiction. While I've worked in a wide array of genres, I have extensive experience in commercial romance. Do you have a hilarious rom-com full of delicious banter? A morally grey hero readers can't help but love? Then I'm here to support you through any and every stage of the editorial process. I also have a depth of experience in fantasy, thriller, horror, and even literary fiction, and I'm always excited to offer insight, direction, and encouragement to the authors I'm privileged to work with.

Whether it's a plotting and brainstorming session where I help you solidify your vision for your book, a big-picture developmental edit on a first draft, or a round (or more!) to fine-tune the flow and continuity of your story, my goal is to be whatever you and your project need: a creative partner, a friendly coach, a cheerleader, or a grammar fiend. My strength is finding and developing the strengths in a manuscript while offering creative solutions and in-depth guidance on tackling any difficulties.

When it comes to editorial style, I'm generally very thorough while remaining extremely flexible and happy to tailor my approach to what you need. Do you prefer I keep my hands off your prose and just give you my general thoughts? Happy to do so. Do you want me to roll up my sleeves and help polish your writing on a line level? Great, let's get to work. Does your book feature intricate world-building and so many magical rules that you just need someone to make sure it all makes sense? You've come to the right place. As a highly editorial literary agent, then an editorial director, I've assessed, sold, and edited a huge array of titles, and I want nothing more than to bring a decade of experience to you and your project!

Work experience

Park, Fine & Brower Literary Management

Jan, 2025 — Feb, 2026 (about 1 year)
I provided editorial feedback (developmental, line, and proofreading) on manuscripts before both submission and delivery to publishers for a large range of commercial titles. Bringing passion and high-level analysis to every project, I oversaw editorial implementation and supported authors through every stage of the editorial and production process.

Brower Literary & Management

Aug, 2023 — Dec, 2025 (over 2 years)
I provided editorial feedback (developmental, line, and proofreading) on manuscripts before both submission and delivery to publishers for a large range of commercial titles. Bringing passion and high-level analysis to every project, I oversaw editorial implementation and supported authors through every stage of the editorial and production process.

Brower Literary & Management

Nov, 2020 — Aug, 2023 (almost 3 years)
I worked closely with authors to develop manuscripts, offering guidance and feedback at every stage, from plotting to polishing. I found success developing proposals, re-working manuscripts to make them more commercially viable (while maintaining the author's vision), and helping authors refine their work both before submission and after securing a book deal.

Brower Literary & Management

Sep, 2016 — Oct, 2020 (about 4 years)
During this time, I was really getting my feet wet in the publishing industry, learning from experts in commercial fiction and really figuring out how to analyze and refine a story. I found early success in romance and brought both my exacting eye and upbeat, collaborative attitude to every edit.
