I am a qualified freelance proofreader with over 30 years' experience, both in-house and out-house (!) proofreading academic, fiction and non-fiction for publishers, including Sage, Bloomsbury, Taylor & Francis, and independent authors, as well as promotional material for businesses.

I specialise in Education, Environment, Social Sciences, and Business, as I have experience of working in both the classroom and the publishing industry. I understand the terminology of education, and the pressures of publishing - I have never missed a deadline.

I also proofread websites and brochures for businesses, and have oodles of positive references, from companies as diverse as cleaning chemical manufacturers, event managers, and health and safety executors. My most recent work has included university application brochures, a pathology department newsletter and a community magazine for Bayswater, which I have thoroughly enjoyed. I love the variety of my work!

I am meticulous, checking every word, line end, front and back matter, running heads, illustrations, credits and headings - nothing escapes me! I can work on whatever platform you would like to use - Word with track changes, Adobe Acrobat (preferred), or even hard copy.
