Work experience

Self-employed

Oct, 2024 — Present

I am a freelance commissioning editor, copyeditor, proofreader, and translator with over 12 years of experience in the publishing industry.

For a decade, I worked as an in-house editor at Bloomsbury Publishing, commissioning academic books and content for a digital resource. After my second maternity leave, I decided to embrace freelancing and now collaborate directly with authors, publishers, businesses, and charities. I’m proud to be a Professional Member of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading (CIEP).

Bloomsbury Publishing

Apr, 2015 — Present

I am a commissioning editor on the Education and Research Methods list. I assess proposals and develop projects with academics, as well as identifying gaps in the market and then finding the most suitable author(s). I oversee projects from proposal all the way to, and beyond, publication.
