Robin Fuller

Robin Fuller – Editor

Born wordsmith and veteran Penguin copy editor and proofreader. Specialties: fantasy, dystopian, spiritual fiction, magical realism, & YA.

Overview

"Robin did a fantastic job editing my first novel. She got under the hood, she rolled up her sleeves, and she asked questions. Her knowledge and expertise are second to none. One year after the completion of the product, I'm still amazed by the detail and thoroughness of her work. While I was definitely pleased with my book, I am without a doubt *proud* of the polished end result and would recommend her wholeheartedly. She is the *only* person I will trust with my next project." - Thomas McKenzie, author of "KnoWare Man"

Ever since the American Society of Magazine Editors awarded me an editorial internship with Rolling Stone at age 21, I have devoted my professional life to working with words. My years working as a freelancer for Penguin ignited my passion for literary editing, and I cut my teeth on everything from self-help to fantasy to best sellers. (One best seller, "The Magicians," even became a hit TV series on Syfy!) My subsequent professional experience as a technical editor, finessing complex documents into polished gems of clarity and style, only sharpened my eye for detail and honed my wordsmithing skills to a razor-sharp edge. I now work full-time as a freelance editor and am honored to help bring so many wonderful books to life for first-timers and established authors alike.

I offer top-notch copy editing and proofreading services across a wide range of genres, both fiction and nonfiction. My gift is crafting the language to better support your story or concept, getting it "out of the way" so that the reader can immerse completely in your content. My personal passions are fantasy, spiritual fiction, channeling / channeled works, new age, spiritual self-help, magical realism, dystopian, and YA. With over ten years of experience as a full-time freelancer under my belt, you can rest assured that I am prompt, responsive, and courteous. My clients also regularly note in my reviews that my upbeat communications and positive feedback on their manuscript are a wonderful source of encouragement and empowerment as they move through the publishing process! And as a born word nerd who is a writer myself, I promise to take the utmost care with your work, going beyond the basics to truly understand and honor your unique voice. I'll ask questions, clarifying anything that is unclear, including inconsistencies in the action, characters, or plot. I'll make suggestions, straightening out loose ends and giving gentle prompts to improve your content. I will not use AI in any of my editing work. I give 110% in everything I do - and as my steady stream of repeat clients can attest, editing is where I really shine.

What can I do for your book? Let's talk! I would be honored to put my skills and experience to work for you. Send me a request, and I will send you a sample edit of your excerpt with my proposal, so we can determine whether I am the right fit for your needs!

I feel so lucky to have worked with Robin! From the very start, she was super eager to dive into my manuscript and clearly cared about the story I was telling.
