Erin Patterson – Editor

I have a passion for helping writers identify and connect with their message. Far too often, I have seen writers lose their way in the overwhelming task of creating a book. I love working with writers to get at the root of what they are trying to convey in their work and helping them uncover that for their readers.

I previously worked at Writers House, Literary Agency, where I edited both nonfiction and fiction writers at every stage of the process. I worked on books such as Why Didn't You Tell Me by Carmen Rita Wong, A Ballad of Love and Glory by Reyna Grande, The Girls in Queens by Christine Kandic Torres, The Other: How to Own Your Power at Work as a Woman of Color by Daniela Pierre-Bravo, and Unfollow Your Passion by Terri Trespicio.

As such, I have a keen understanding for what works well, what doesn't, and what agents and editors are looking for when they are reviewing manuscripts and proposals. I can provide nonfiction proposal development, developmental edits for nonfiction and adult fiction, query letter review, and more. At the beginning of this year, I left the publishing industry for a role supporting clients at a tech company, but I'll never be able to leave behind my passion for editing.
