Hello! I'm Debra, new to Reedsy but very experienced in fiction editing, I'm a passionate bookworm—and proud of it! Words are my life. With an honours degree in communications and over a decade spent as the official gatekeeper of every word that went to print for the UK’s leading papercraft company, I’ve built a career rooted in language. In recent years, I’ve fully embraced my freelance career in fiction editing and proofreading, and I absolutely love it!

I’m not only qualified and accredited, but I also bring extensive experience in copy editing and proofreading fiction novels, many of which have become Top 100 Bestsellers. I’ve had the pleasure of collaborating on hundreds of manuscripts with several UK publishers and editorial agencies, including Kevin Anderson and Associates, Troubador Publishing, and Boldwood Books—the publisher recently named joint winner of 'London Small Press of the Year' at The British Book Awards 2023.
