Crystal Mahey-Morgan

Crystal Mahey-Morgan – Editor

Editor. 10+ years publishing industry experience including at Penguin Random House. Loves working with all authors across genres and styles

Overview

I'm a publisher, editor and literary agent and have worked with both internationally bestselling authors and talented debut novelists and non-fiction writers.

I specialise in literary fiction, crime, narrative non-fiction, smart thinking and memoir and have a particular interest and sensibility for editing talented and diverse voices which have traditionally struggled to break through.

I'm a hands on editor and keen to get the best out of you and help you write the best version of your book. I focus on; structural and developmental changes, character and voice, plot and pacing. I'm able to consult on every stage of the publishing process from editorial to bound book but am a firm believer that the most important part of the process is getting the edit right.

Crystal Mahey-Morgan showed me a talent that was beyond my abilities. It deals with the dreaded submission letter; there's no simplifying this. You can create an eighty thousand word novel and make it sparkle with research, proper editing the whole enchilada. You're an all-star—no dirt on you! Then reality sets in— a single page document that has to catch the eye of a literary agent (the gatek...
