Overview
I am a UK-based copyeditor offering editorial services for publishers, think tanks, learned societies and public sector organisations. Reliable, approachable and committed to the highest standards, I help clients from around the world produce professional publications for a global audience.
I have more than 25 years of publishing experience, both freelance and in-house, and currently hold a full-time position as a language editor for major academic journals. I specialise in editing scientific and technical content to ensure that even the most complex concepts are conveyed with clarity and accuracy.
As well as scholarly books, textbooks and monographs, I have worked on policy briefs, safety reports, approach papers and evaluations for prominent international bodies, including the IAEA, IEG and the European University Association. I have also edited thousands of journal papers by ESL authors, primarily on physics, astronomy and Earth sciences.
I am fluent in The Chicago Manual of Style and adept at applying strict internal house styles. I edit in either UK or US English as required. I hold a BA (Hons) in English and French and am a Professional Member of the UK's Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading (CIEP).
I look forward to partnering with clients seeking a meticulous editor for shorter-length documents. My freelance capacity is best suited to projects under 20,000 words, such as journal articles, conference papers, white papers and institutional reports. You can expect transparent communication, constructive feedback and a highly polished final product.
