Overview
As a seasoned editor and professional novelist, I can help you shape your manuscript, and peel away the layers in order to let your voice shine through.
I have 15 years of experience working as a writer in the publishing industry, both in the U.K. and the U.S. In addition, I worked as an editor at The New York Times for over a decade, as well as a journalist for other print and digital publications.
I hold a Bachelors Degree in English Literature and a Masters Degree in Creative Writing. I also run a private workshop for published authors, where we develop novels and memoirs, taking them from the idea stage to a final, finished book.
I'm passionate about helping writers bring their vision and their particular voice to life—clearly and distinctively—on the page. Every writer has the keys to their own success within them, something unique to their work. But as a novelist myself, I understand only too well the need for supportive and intelligent feedback when working on such a large and solitary project. It's not unusual for a writer to be unable to see the forest for the trees, and that's where a good editor comes in. I'm here to gently and clearly guide you through that process.
I'm skilled at navigating and preparing a manuscript for publishing, from conception to that final proofread. Whether you're looking for early developmental feedback, coaching, full developmental editing, or a comprehensive line edit, I'm here to help and encourage. I look forward to hearing from you.
