Overview

I’m a print production professional with a decade of experience in the book publishing industry. I've typeset everything from short literary fiction and poetry to nonfiction with extensive bibliographies and indexes.

Each book interior I design is informed by the author’s work and the book's cover. My typesetting services include taking a manuscript from a Word document to fully packaged InDesign natives ready to send to print. My main priority is delivering elegantly crafted InDesign files that are easy to convert into epubs.

Oversaw schedules for, formatted manuscripts of, and typeset about thirty titles per season across Catapult, Counterpoint, and Soft Skull imprints. Managed ebook production schedules. Hired freelance copy editors, proofreaders, indexers, and ebook converters and evaluated their work. Developed copyediting and proofreading tests for freelancers and oversaw numerous calls for freelancer applications. Developed production department procedures and communicated them to other departments. Collaboratively updated the house style guide to reflect company culture and priorities. Developed in-house trainings for copyediting, InDesign fundamentals, and typesetting and trained incoming interns and other employees. Proofread cover copy and communicated with design regarding the creation and routing of mechanicals.
