Tjaša Krivec

Tjaša Krivec – Designer

Happy to help with original typographic and illustrative cover ideas for your fiction, nonfiction or academic titles.

Overview

I started my career as a freelancer in Slovenia, where I worked on many different projects including designing books and exhibitions for museums, website design and company identities. I also designed posters and marketing material for musicals and performances. After moving to London I started working mainly as cover designer. I designed covers for Palgrave Macmillan and Bloomsbury. I have been shortlisted for the ABCD 2019 book cover awards in the nonfiction category.

I give each project I am working on my 100%. I am open to cooperation with the author and try including their ideas as well as bringing my own creativity to the project. I love illustrative and typographical cover designs but also love to work with photographic material. Before I start any project I like to see some samples of the designs you like or dislike, just to see some general direction that we are going in. That really helps getting the designs spot on as soon as possible.

It is important to know your budget quite early, just to see how much we can play with printing techniques and other effects that can make a book more tactile and interesting. The end goal is to achieve attractive and competitive cover design, that will contribute to the success of your publication.

We are total novices in the realm of book design and publishing. Tjaša was very supportive and patient with us. Her book cover design was very pleasing and just what we wanted; her pricing was exceptionally competitive compared to other quotes we received. We wouldn't hesitate in recommending her further.
