Overview

I am a seasoned copy editor and proofreader with extensive book editing experience with many well-known book publishers. I have loved reading and writing since I was a little girl, and I consider it a privilege to help authors--known and unknown--make their book the best it can be. I am also a writer with an MFA in Fiction, so I understand and respect each author's voice. I am thoughtful, flexible, thorough, extremely reliable, unflappable, and down-to-earth. I especially love fiction, children's literature, health, cooking, and the arts, but am happy to take on any subject!

I have copyedited for many major book publishers including Simon & Schuster, Random House, Adams Media, Harvard Business Review Press, Cambridge University Press, Quatro Publishing, and Harvard Law School. I have also edited magazines such as Boston Magazine, Harvard Business Review, and MIT Sloan Management Review, as well as for universities such as Boston University, George Mason University, New England Conservatory, Harvard University, Radcliffe, and MIT. For 13 years I was the head of the copyedit department for StayWell, a health and wellness publishing company. Prior to that I was the editor for New England Conservatory and George Mason University.

I have worked with writers and journalists of all different types and am always willing to listen, suggest, and guide while respecting your voice, in addition to fixing typos and grammar errors and meeting all your deadlines!

Kelly's work was not only top-quality, but it was an enjoyable experience. She's a terrific copy editor, and she answered my questions and discussed different ways to treat usage, punctuation, and spelling. Kelly also was on-track with schedule, even returning the manuscript to me ahead of our agreed-on date. I'd recommend her work highly!
