Gabrielle Bethancourt

Gabrielle Bethancourt – Editor

Thoughtful, communicative editor, production specialist, and copyediting instructor who loves turning strong drafts into great books.

Overview

Books have been the center of my life for as long as I can remember. I hold a master's degree in Publishing from George Washington University and have spent my career working behind the scenes to help authors transform manuscripts into books.

I've worked as an editor, production editor, project manager, and copyediting instructor, giving me a unique perspective on both the creative and technical sides of publishing. Whether I'm reviewing the big-picture structure of a manuscript or correcting the smallest punctuation error, I love helping writers communicate their ideas with clarity and confidence.

My specialties include nonfiction, history, memoir, and academic works, though I'm always excited to discover a new project that challenges me. I believe the best editing is collaborative: thoughtful, encouraging, and focused on helping authors achieve their vision rather than imposing my own.

If you're looking for an editor who is detail-oriented, responsive, and genuinely enthusiastic about books, I'd love to hear about your project.
