Jenny DePierre – Editor

I am an editor and proofreader with degrees from Stanford and NYU and over seven years of professional experience working primarily with novels and creative nonfiction.

Having spent the first part of my career as a researcher, I consider myself a bit of a reformed academic. After all that technical and scientific writing, I found myself back together with my first love—books. I particularly enjoy editing literary as well as genre fiction, including thrillers, sci-fi, fantasy, and romance.

When you work with me, I’ll help you figure out exactly what your book needs and how we can get it there together. The editing process is a collaboration, and whether I’m diving into the larger developmental aspects or focusing on the line-by-line flow and technical details of your writing, I’ll maintain an open line of communication with you. I know how personal the writing process can be and the great trust involved in handing a manuscript over to someone else. My priority is staying true to your voice and vision while polishing your book to the point where it’s ready for publication.
