Overview
Every position I've held has involved wordsmithing; "editor" did not have to be in the job title. Finding better ways to accurately express, enhance, or organize is my first love--professionally speaking. Whether punching up a dry movie description without fibbing even a little bit or wanting to spare an author certain embarrassment when he insisted that the Isley Brothers, not James Brown, were responsible for a particular 1960s anthem, I was an asset one could count on.
As a copyeditor, I will help make your text sing in your own voice. That often requires making text less bulky. When revisions seem warranted, I will be gentle but firm. As a proofreader, I am careful, diligent, and not afraid to call out what a copyeditor might have missed. I respect deadlines and your style preference, be it AP, APA, or Chicago, among others. I thrive on whipping notes and bibliographies into shape.
