Harmony Harkema – Editor

I'm a freelance editor and book coach living in beautiful West Michigan, where I homeschool my daughters using a living books approach (only the best!). I began my career many years ago in magazine journalism, moved from there to public education (English, of course), then embarked on an adventure in the publishing industry.

I spent 14 years at Zondervan, where I was mentored by some of the best editors in the Christian publishing business, who taught me to love the fine skills of book editing. From Zondervan, I moved on to a boutique children's publisher and spent three years editing award-winning children's picture and middle-grade books.

As an editor, I am committed to helping authors' voices shine, helping them say what they want to say in the most winsome way possible, whether that's through a nonfiction manuscript, a middle-grade novel, or a rhyming picture book.
