Due to my vast range of experiences, I have a well-rounded knowledge on the whole publishing process for children’s books.

I have worked on titles ranging from learning-to-read all the way up to Middle Grade, Teen, and YA. I was the lead editor for four of my eight years at the publishing house I worked for, heading up all developmental editing, copy editing, proofreading, and typesetting.

I am UK based and a native English speaker, but I can work to BE and AE upon request. I excel at finding plot holes and inconsistencies within stories, and I love working on character arcs and emotional depth.

I have:

🔹 8+ years experience of in-house developmental editing, copy editing, proofreading, and typesetting.

🔹 a degree in Animation, giving me key skills in storytelling and creative vision.

🔹 have written and ghostwritten for several published books.

🔹 liaised with authors, agents and illustrators to commission and give feedback.

🔹 typeset books and created storyboards and thumbnails for them, which I then handed to illustrators.

🔹 8+ years experience in working on phonic-based books, giving me an in-depth understanding of book banding and decodable words (based on the UK Institute of Education’s book banding scheme).
