Sam Farkas

Sam Farkas – Editor

I am a New York City-based literary agent with a leading agency, specializing in children's and adult fiction across genres.

Overview

Hello writers!

As a literary agent and rights director with over ten years of publishing experience, I offer a sharp editorial eye as well as an in-depth understanding of the current market. Having worked on everything from picture books to dark thrillers, romance, literary fiction, and more, I consider myself a generalist, and my familiarity with many categories and genres gives me.a wide breadth of knowledge and an ability to think outside-the-box.

My editorial style is to offer insight and ask questions. My goal is always to start a dialogue, and while I will provide suggestions, I feel it's critical for the author's own voice and vision to shine through. I want those I work with to feel encouraged and energized by my edits.

As a global rights director who attends the major book fairs, I also bring a unique perspective on the international publishing landscape, and I am happy to work with writers based anywhere in the world.

I would love to help you polish your query letter, make those opening pages sing, or develop your full manuscript.

Please note: Due to ethical reasons, I cannot offer literary representation to anyone with whom I work in a freelance capacity.
