Overview
You’ve got a story inside you. I’m here to help you get it out to the world!
I've worked with hundreds of award-winning and bestselling YA, middle-grade, and adult books--both traditionally and self-published--specializing in the genres of fantasy, sci-fi, action and adventure, thriller, and most areas of contemporary fiction. From first idea to published book, it's my privilege to work with authors at whatever stage they're in.
As an editor, author, speaker, and literary agent scout for a premier literary agency, I'm able to bring a unique perspective to your work, whether you're an indie author wanting to self-publish, or looking to pitch it to agents and editors.
Things I look at:
--Point of view
--Pacing
--Plot holes
--Tone
--Marketability
--Characters arcs
--Tightening up your writing
--and much more.
On the personal writing side, I'm an award-winning and bestselling author of fantasy, with over thirty works published. As a writing teacher and workshop leader I've presented and spoken at dozens of major writing conferences, local writing chapters, organizations, and libraries, and co-written a feature article for Writer’s Digest.

A more detailed breakdown of my services:
Developmental Editing:
With a developmental edit I make notes within the book using Track Changes, and include a comprehensive editorial report overviewing the entire makeup of your novel, including tying up character arcs, pinpointing pacing issues, shoring up plot construction, focusing your book for the market, and more. With my literary agent scout hat on, I also look at marketability to make sure your work is hitting the mark to interest your readers and potential agents. This edit takes your completed manuscript and offers guidance on areas of improvement to make the book as strong as it can be.
Editorial Assessment/Evaluation:
For those looking for the same A-level input on their story, without the in-manuscript comments of a developmental edit. An editorial eval will go over your book with an eye for teasing out weaknesses to revise, and is a perfect place for those who know their work needs help, but aren't sure where to start. Includes a full read of the manuscript and a comprehensive editorial report addressing all areas that could use improvement and get you on the right path to revision.
Query Letter Review:
For those preparing to start pitching, a query is your foot in the door; a way to catch that elusive agent's attention and get them requesting your book. I approach my query reviews with a triple perspective: as an author, agent scout, and editor, to give you actionable feedback and make it as strong as possible.
Story/Publishing Consultation:
Have an amazing idea but not sure where to go with it? A consult will give you the start you need to forge your own publishing path and create a personalized plan for your book and author career. Consult times range from thirty minutes to an hour.
