Overview
Everett is a bestselling, award-winning author, screenwriter, and experienced ghostwriter specializing in true crime, memoir, and deeply reported narrative nonfiction. My traditionally published work includes In the Ghost Shadows: The Untold Story of Chinatown’s Most Powerful Crime Boss, a critically acclaimed true crime book nominated for both the Edgar and Dagger Awards and currently in development as a docudrama with Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson’s G-Unit Productions. I am also the author of the award-winning novel Thirty-three Cecils, winner of the London Book Festival Fiction Prize, now being developed as a feature film starring Dustin Hoffman and Matthew Modine.
In addition to my mainstream publishing, film, and theater work, I have ghostwritten numerous nonfiction books, including two full-length true crime/memoir titles—one with an accompanying documentary project in development. My ghostwriting portfolio also includes seven screenplays currently in development and a stage play that is presently on tour. Notable ghostwritten projects include the exclusive account of a father who lost his son in one of the most notorious mass murders in his state, as well as the memoir of a woman whose father was killed by the Russian mob.
Across all projects, I am trusted to handle sensitive, high-stakes material with accuracy, discretion, and emotional depth. I work closely with clients to shape complex investigations and personal histories into compelling, publication- and production-ready narratives, with a strong focus on structure, authenticity, and storytelling that resonates with readers, publishers, and producers alike.
REVIEWS:
I had the pleasure of working with ghostwriter Everett De Morier, who helped me understand the difference between how we write and how readers actually read. He took the time to truly get to know me—both as a person and as a writer—and skillfully brought those two sides together in my book. Everett clearly explained the entire writing and publishing process and successfully delivered my manuscript to a literary agent with experience and passion in my book’s genre. I’m grateful for his guidance and look forward to working with him on future projects.

I am beyond grateful for Everett, he is a fantastic and ethical writer, who not only got my story industry ready - but was also so invested that he is now my writing partner.
