Everett is a bestselling, award-winning author, screenwriter, and experienced ghostwriter specializing in true crime, memoir, and deeply reported narrative nonfiction. His traditionally published work includes In the Ghost Shadows: The Untold Story of Chinatown’s Most Powerful Crime Boss, a critically acclaimed true crime book nominated for both the Edgar and Dagger Awards and currently in development as a docudrama with Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson’s G-Unit Productions.

He is also the author of the award-winning novel Thirty-three Cecils, winner of the London Book Festival Fiction Prize, now being developed as a feature film starring Dustin Hoffman and Matthew Modine.

His newest nonfiction book, The Spider King: The Most Notorious Criminal Mastermind You’ve Never Heard Of is currently in development as a documentary with Steve Rotfeld Productions, with the limited-series rights separately under development with Upstream Entertainment.
