I’m a Melbourne-based freelance concept artist specialising in steampunk, science fiction, and paleo-inspired artwork.

Overview

I’m a Melbourne-based freelance concept artist specialising in steampunk, science fiction, and paleo-inspired worlds, with over 10 years of experience working with game studios, film projects, and publishers. I focus on creating visually striking, story-driven artwork that not only looks great but serves a clear purpose within a project, whether that’s defining a world, shaping a character, or supporting a narrative.

Working with me is collaborative, efficient, and transparent. I communicate clearly, meet deadlines, and adapt quickly to feedback to ensure the final result aligns with your vision. I bring both creative problem-solving and real-world production experience, so you’re not just getting artwork, you’re getting a reliable partner who understands how to deliver under pressure and help bring your ideas to life.

Work experience

Friends of the table

May, 2023 — Present
For Those Who Dare, a tabletop RPG by Friends at the Table, I worked as a concept artist and illustrator, producing the cover art, chapter illustrations, and spot images that helped define the visual identity of the book. My role focused on translating the game’s tone and world into cohesive, story-driven visuals that enhance immersion and support the player experience.

Self-employed

May, 2017 — Present
I’m a freelance concept artist with over 10 years of experience working across games, film, and publishing, creating steampunk, science fiction, and paleo-inspired artwork. I’ve delivered everything from concept art and illustrations to full visual development, helping clients bring their ideas to life with clear, story-driven visuals

How do you ensure your character design aligns with the target audience?

Design brief, design brief, design brief!!

Making sure the client is very clear on what your style is and once you qualify the client that it fits what you specialize in then go from there.

How do you work to translate a character’s personality into visual design?

Shapes is my number one starring point with thumbnails and all I am doing is applying shapes until I see something that sits well and sparks that curiosity of how far I can push it.
