Creatures of a Night

I have consumed others. I think doing so sustains this body. A body that was given life from a kiss. The power of the dark pact, I suppose. Yes, I remember receiving some form of kiss. The one I refer to as my Master. Still, to be resurrected by someone who does not care for my Heart nor my mind, saddens me. That is...if an "Undead" like myself is ALLOWED to be saddened. My Heart weakens. My Heart withers. My Heart woes. My Heart... “Are you well?” A witch named Victoria is perhaps the only friend I have within these obfuscating woods. Not...

My Heart Pounds, My Heart Pains, and My Heart Pleases

Weekly Contest #375

“MY HEART POUNDS, MY HEART PAINS, AND MY HEART PLEASES HER” The deathly peck from HER lips. Yes. That is what I can recall. Deep in a sea of black, a sweetened taste of kindling reaches and gnarls my chest. And my mind numbs as it succumbs to HER very touch. Abandoned with no sense of belonging or family, I am tethered to HER whims. She emits a fountain of light. And that light guides me. Yet it still feels so dark... A crow of black. Deceased, as maggots crawl outside of its fractured body. How influential HER power is. I was and still am...

Goodbye Maribeth

Weekly Contest #329

I still think of you. My mind has been in a complete haze since you've left. To be forthcoming, lately my heart has been feeling quite bereft. Within this shell of a home, I rest by the fireplace without your warmth. You, of all people, should know how brittle fire feels compared to the touch from our kin. The sheer burst of vigor we would feel once the moon placed us asleep. Yes... Mother Moon and her silver gaze is ever a beauty to witness. As I hook my claws into the cypress we both carved when we'd go hunting in the forest. As I listen ...

IN NIGHT COMES TEETH

Weekly Contest #308

“IN NIGHT COMES TEETH" “Are you sure it’s this way?” Remina questioned their older brother, Ichen. “Because if it’s not, you’ll be the one on cleaning duty when we return home,” she snickers as she brushes away a hanging branch. It had been hours since the trio of Samuel, Remina, and Ichen had come across treasure of any true value. Only following dead leads and rumors, they traverse through these quiet woods to see if they can find their mark. “Patience, Remina. Give the boy a chance.” Ichen surveys the forest and its sea of curling trees...

When Emperors Live

Weekly Contest #266

Mac sits at the desk for hours on end. From 4PM to 8PM, he needed to get his project DONE by the end of Friday. Between balancing his work at the security office as well as trying to meet his deadline, his creative cloud of imagination grew stale as time progressed. The ticking of the clock haunting as well as grating his nerves. He groaned as he dropped the weight of his big ol head onto the table. “Oww...” he sighs as boredom strains the back of his neck. 10PM arrives and power begins to flicker. For Mac, he didn’t heed the broadcast abou...

Spike And His Flowers

Weekly Contest #265

Dad And His Flowers There is nothing quite as powerful as the hand of a father’s grip. I would know, for Spike had the grip of a bear. A grip that was forged through pain and neglect as well as love and discipline. Those were the same hands that pushed me forward once I met him while times were down. I can still remember how high he raised me from the kissing waters of the pool when I was just six years small, and the smile that conquered his face that day. A face once made of stone. We both share that same face - one of solace and regret. ...

A Solemn Fear

Weekly Contest #263

It looks just like him. His eyes singe from the waves of smoke that flood the air. Breathing becomes thinner as his sweaty palms hold onto a metal pipe. Covered in bruises, Ethan sniffles as he tries to kindle courage inside of his heart. Loneliness shrinks it as he peers this creature that stalks him. Fear snakes within his veins - and every plink injects more venom through his bloodstream. It looks...just like him. His almond coated eyes. His stupid freckles on the bridge of his button nose. His unkempt hair and his burly brows. Even the s...

A Summer Of Biting Passion

Weekly Contest #262

It was a moment of weakness. During that summer, he could sweat just from IMAGINING her lips pressed against his bare skin. They were parked in front of his grandmother’s house. Not the most romantic of places to be when wanting to give someone a hickey, but Zachari was determined to bedazzle her. His night with Racel Monet was the night of the blood moon. While the air thinned as it grew frigid through the lonely streets of Harloom, his pants burn from her gentle touch. He felt a bit slight in comparison to the bulky red Hummer she carried ...
