Sean Gaboya was born in Cebu City, Philippines, grew up in rural Indiana, and now lives in Atlanta, Georgia. He writes creative nonfiction and personal narrative — stories about ordinary days that only reveal their weight when you look back at them. His work draws on a life lived between places and cultures — Cebu, Indiana, and Atlanta — shaped by the banks of the Wabash River and the Housatonic, where summers spent in Connecticut left their mark, and by time at the Summors-Cooper House in Alabama, a place of deep Southern history where he came to understand a culture not entirely his own.
