Be it suspense, horror and everything in between.
I like stories that start in the everyday, on job sites, in classrooms, out bush or camping… and then take a turn for the unexpected. I’m from blue collar Australia, so naturally I’m drawn to blue-collar settings and stories that stay grounded, even when the ground starts to shift. You can keep your brooding genius detectives, orphaned chosen ones, and femme fatales. I prefer tension that simmers, not shouts. Ordinary people in extraordinary situations.
In short I want to write fiction that feels real, even if it bends the rules. Just a little..
