Weekly Contest #376
"Aren't you going to get that?" "No, it'll just be an Amazon delivery. They'll leave it on the doorstep. Go on, carry on." I sipped my coffee and nodded at Mel to continue. "Well, and then he said that he just wasn't feeling ..." But the doorbell interrupted Mel again. Ringing more insistently this time, whoever was out there holding the bell push in for longer. Trrriiinnnnng. "Doesn't sound like Amazon." "Hold that thought, I'll be right be back." I set my cup down on the coaster on the coffee table, a little irritated to be honest, because...

Despite on-site palace paramedics performing the Handsome manoeuvre within seconds of the inc...

Essentially, she was trying to hide all signs of t...

Contains themes of war and death Bomb Shelter The town had been bombed again last night. The bombing went on for over five hours. The air raid warning sirens wailing and then being drowned out by explosions and collapsing buildings and screams of terror. As daylight broke and the bombing finally stopped, everyone started crawling out from wherever they had been sheltering to inspect the latest devastation. Fires were still burning in some buildings and fire fighters, covered in soot and dust, were battling flames and smoke to extinguish th...

CW: Violence, strong language Frank will be home in five minutes. Frank will be home in five minutes. Come on Bella, stop wasting time for fuck’s sake. What’s wrong with you? Why does your brain always do this? Shit, I’ve just wasted twenty seconds arguing with myself. Ok, come on. You’ve got this. Get up. Four minutes and forty seconds. Air fryer on. Two eggs from the fridge. Frying pan from the cupboard. God I’m tired. The frying pan feels heavy enough to kill someone with. Now there’s an idea. Mixing bowl. Fork. Bag of frozen chips fr...
