Thayer Blackwood watched the tassel smoke trickle through the living room. The sweet smell was supposed to calm him, but it didn't help at all, it even aggravated his frustration. It had been three weeks since he had been robbed, weeks with days when he had looked at the sun on the window of his forest house, it was shining too brightly, too warmly, too full of life.
