After so many years, it’s good to finally make a record of these things. I haven’t spoken much about them, but those whom I’ve told often seem to accept or reject it based on what they already believe. We had camped in a notch just below Rattlesnake Rocks, near Bear Ridge, that was surrounded by small hemlocks hanging on just below the treeline, protected by the wind from three sides.
