Professor Jackson rose from a deep slumber. His eyes were heavy with sleep, and he began to rub them with the knuckles of his index fingers as he assessed his whereabouts. Aaron stumbled in the sand. He tripped and fell flat on his face. He spit out a mouthful of sand as he raised his body from the blazing ground. He brushed himself off, and looked back to where he’d fallen. There was a gleam of metal amidst the sand.
