Overview

I am currently working as a freelance editor after previously working in the publishing industry for both mass market and commercial publishers of fiction and non-fiction.

I have worked on a range of products targeted to mass market consumers in the UK, which are not available on Amazon.com or Google Play, but if you would like to see examples please let me know. I have covered a range of items from horoscopes to health and fitness, recipe books to game boxes, gift non-fiction to novelty journals, and trivia and puzzle books for both UK and US markets. This has included editorial management from concept to publication, and writing content for products.

I completed my MA Publishing in 2017, and was the inaugural winner of UCL's Stevenson Award for the course. I have experience with manuscripts for different audiences - from academic texts and mass market non-fiction, to children's books and trade genre fiction. I have worked closely with authors across a number of genres, providing developmental editing support and feedback on their manuscripts. I also have experience writing copy for a variety of target audiences, including advertisements, book cover copy, and blog and social media content.

I have three years of experience within the publishing industry, but prior to this I worked in roles which required high attention to detail and a keen sense of audience. I also blog about books and the wider publishing industry. I would love to work with you on your projects - I hope to hear from you soon!
