Isabella Peralta is an editor and writer with 7+ years of experience in the publishing industry. As editor-in-chief of Prompted, Reedsy’s literary magazine, she selects and edits work from both established and emerging writers. She also runs Prompts, Reedsy's weekly writing contest, which has grown into a global community of over 800,000 writers.
On the Reedsy blog, Isabella covers a range of topics, from self-publishing and book marketing to the literary agent querying process. Her work has also appeared on sites such as Litreactor, NowNovel, and Books and Bao. She holds a master’s degree in creative writing from the University of Cambridge and previously worked as a writing center associate at Yale-NUS College. Her time as a copy editor for Postscript Magazine and an editorial intern for New York-based literary agency Ayesha Pande Literary has notably given her direct insight into both the submissions and acquisitions sides of publishing.
As a licensed educator and advocate of racial and cultural diversity, Isabella is dedicated to championing underrepresented voices in classrooms and the publishing industry. When not writing or reading, Isabella can be found browsing secondhand bookshops and trying to keep her plants alive.
