Overview
I have worked as a literary agent since 2021, previously with the Bright Agency. My previous experience includes marketing for publishing and bookselling. I also appeared as a contributor on the Graham Norton Book Club for all six seasons.
I specialise in working with authors and author-illustrators in SFF, speculative fiction and horror, while in Children’s I cover in chapter books, middle grade, YA and crossover fiction. I also work on Graphic Novels across all age ranges. I am passionate about projects that centre traditionally underrepresented voices and love working with authors from diverse backgrounds. I am also adept at working with authors who are evolving into new genres and age-ranges, usually from Children's to Adult or vice versa.
I believe that honesty and clear communication is key in working with authors across commercial and editorial areas - I will always try and demystify the process by answering questions fully, and offering any information and advice I can. In an editorial relationship, I am able to adjust my approach dependent on what an author is looking for. I will always be honest with feedback (I don't believe in bullshitting!), however I know that writing is a process, and editing a manuscript needs a collaborative and compassionate approach. My aim is to always make a book the best it can be, to reach the audience it deserves.
