Overview

I have 8 years of in-house experience in commissioning, development editing and copy-editing. I have guided authors through every stage of the process, from bringing an idea into a full proposal, all the way to finalising the back cover copy and optimising it for online search.

I take a thorough, personable and thoughtful approach to providing authors with feedback. Whether it's someone's first book or their 20th, submitting content for feedback can feel strange and uncomfortable, so I always keep in mind how hard authors work to get words on the page. I always provide reasoning for my development suggestions, whether it's highlighting what's working well or offering ideas for improvement. My development feedback focuses on the structure, tone of voice and pacing.

Most of my experience is in non-fiction books, but I am also open to fiction works and a variety of formats beyond books. I work in Word/GoogleDocs or in PDF formats.
