I love flaky painted wood, rusty metal, old signs, my family and friends, nature, surfing and my 1954 VW Beetle.
I have worked for most of the world's larger publishing houses and also for many of the smaller ones too, including PenguinRandomHouse (UK and US), Harper Collins (UK and US), MacMillan (UK), Houghton Mifflin (US), Faber and Faber (UK), Harper Collins (UK and US), Time Warner (UK), Bloomsbury, Atlantic Books, Canongate, Gallimard Press (France), Arnoldo Editore (Italy), Espasa (Spain), Flammarion (France), Hetland (Denmark), Presenca (Portugal), Sartorio Editore (Italy), Weidenfeld & Nicholson, Zahar (Brazil), and more.
With more than 500 titles completed to date my work covers a wide variety of subject matter, from Rocket Science to Hamburger Recipes, Historical Crime to Monkey Wars. I have illustrated the covers for three Man Booker Prize winning novels: 'Life of Pi' by Yann Martel and 'Wolf Hall' and 'Bring Up The Bodies' by Hilary Mantel. I recently completed the cover for the latest installment of Andrea Camilleri's 'Inspector Montalbano' detective series for PenguinRandomHouse in the US.
