Combining an arts background with a career in publishing, I specialise in book covers, internal book design (typesetting, for print and ebooks), and online promotional graphics for books.

If we work together, you can expect a friendly, smiley person (always helps, doesn't it), full of useful publishing knowledge and always on hand to help you through the process, with prompt delivery too.

My work tends to have a literary leaning, but over the last 10+ years I've worked on all sorts of books – from novels to poetry collections, history books to anthologies, graphic novels to photo books – for renowned publishing houses, indie presses, and indie authors from all over the world. And I'm always open to any new challenges you might like to send this way.

COVER DESIGN

I generally offer at least 5 cover concepts for you to choose from, and work with you on any tweaks to create a really perfect final cover that you can be proud of. Plus, once our project has finished, I'll still be available to make any little future changes, should you need to add a glowing endorsement from the New York Times to your front cover (this recently happened to one of my Reedsy clients)!

Spin-off promo graphics can include grid-, story- and post-sized images for socials, and A+ content for Amazon, using 3D mock-ups and elements from your cover to bring them to life.

TYPESETTING

First, I create a sample layout of your book design for your approval – showing the opening few chapters, and including elements that complement your cover (fonts, detail illustrations, etc). Once all is styled and typeset, I'll send you a proofing PDF, allowing time for you (or a professional proofreader) to check over every last word. I'll then make one round of corrections and, once those are approved, I'll deliver your final print-ready and ebook-ready files.

PS I've also spent many years writing and editing back-cover blurbs for publishers too, so should you need a hand honing yours, don't hesitate to ask.
