Combining an arts background with a career in publishing, I specialise in creating stunning book covers, thoughtful interiors (for print and ebooks), and eye-catching promotional graphics for books.

Books are my absolute passion and, because I'm lucky enough to be doing my dream job, I pour my all into every project. My design work tends to have a leaning towards contemporary literary fiction, and I specialise in graphic novels too, but over the last 10+ years I've worked on all sorts of genres – from poetry collections to history books, anthologies to photo books, in-depth guides to self-help tomes – for renowned publishing houses (like Bonnier and Bloomsbury), indie presses (like Women’s Prize-shortlisted Myriad), and indie authors from all over the world.

If we work together, you can expect a friendly, smiley person (always helps, doesn't it), full of useful knowledge in self-publishing and traditional publishing, and always on hand to help you through the process, with prompt delivery too.

COVER DESIGN

• Typically, 5+ front cover concepts for you to choose from

• Tweaks to your chosen design, to create a really perfect final cover (front, back and spine)

• Print-ready and ebook-ready final files

• Once our project has finished, I'll still be available to make any little future changes — should you need to add a glowing endorsement from, say, the New York Times to your front cover (this recently happened to one of my Reedsy clients)

PROMO GRAPHICS

• Using elements from your cover design, plus a 3D mock-up to advertise your book on socials, Amazon and your own website

• Can include grid-, story- and post-sized images for socials, and A+ content for Amazon

INTERIOR DESIGN, aka TYPESETTING (for print and ebook)

If you're looking for a really professional finish on your book (which seems logical considering how long you've spent writing it), then using a professional typesetter is kind of a must. Curiously, you know that the typesetting is good when you don't notice the layout as you read!

As well as standard fiction and non-fiction, I'm experienced in photo books, graphic novels and extensive text-and-photographic guides.

• Sample designs for your book layout (including body/title fonts, detail illustrations, etc) ensuring a seamless reading experience

• Checking all the essential info is in there, in the right places

• PDF proof to send to your proofreader

• A round of corrections

• Guidance for KDP / IngramSpark / B&N / Lulu / Book Vault / trad printer etc

• Print-ready and ebook-ready final files
