Whitney Noziska

Whitney Noziska – Editor

I'm new here! But Big 5-published experts have sought out my savvy Developmental Editing for years. Why? Storytelling flair + MBA strategy.

Overview

Are you a leading expert in your field and ambitious writer? You could be the right fit for my first Reedsy project!

Here's what the VP of Editorial at Berrett-Koehler Publishers assures you'll get working with me:

β€œI have relied on Whitney for her editorial guidance and insights for a number of projects and will continue to do so.

She has the capability to dig well beyond the basics (which not many editors and writers can do) to go deep into nuances […] and though they can not always be seen, they are certainly felt.

She engages deeply and comprehensively, taking apart everything and sharpening and polishing the parts before putting them back together[....] and that is a skill few have.” - Jeevan Sivasubramaniam

As developmental editor and narrative consultant trusted by professional ghostwriters, veteran journalists, publishers and published authors, I'm determined to make work not just publishable, but influential. Authors I've worked with have gone on to have their books distributed by Penguin Random House, Macmillan, Simon & Schuster and Wiley. Let me do the same caliber of work for you!

Clients work with me because they need someone strategic and savvy. Equipped with an MBA and an agent's instincts, I offer premium developmental editing that digs deep, provides sharp structural and narrative insight, and values building a strong professional relationship along the way. Titles I've worked on have attracted praise from prominent leaders like Bill Gates.

My work stands out.

If you're ready for a manuscript edit, my mission is to ensure your ideas make an impact.

Overview of what makes me different:

πŸ“•Clients -- Most of my clients are published authors (including the Big 5), I'm also sought out by professional ghostwriters and am on Berrett-Koehler Publishers' roster for "special projects that require a keener eye"

πŸ–ŠοΈ Development only -- I focus on the foundation of a phenomenal book: it's core concept and structure. Concept development requires a sophisticated understanding of both the marketplace and how narrative works, which I've demonstrated time after time. Thanks to my analytical approach, I'm regularly sought out for deep structural editing *after* it's been through other developmental editors.

☺️ It's personal -- I'm invested in your project. Your concerns are mine, I'll champion you every step of the way, and we'll celebrate your win together. You're not just a contract -- we need each other in this world and I believe in cultivating strong professional relationships.

Services I offer:

πŸ“œFull Developmental Edits

πŸ–ŠοΈ Manuscript Assessments

πŸŒ‰ Concept Structure Testing

πŸ“• Book Coaching

Writing is one of the most intellectually challenging exercises there is. Let me use my experience, story knowledge and knack for analysis to identify how we can make your ideas innovative and compelling.

What it's like to work with me:

I will NEVER use AI on your project. I give honest, candid feedback. Clients value me for levelling with them and generally guiding them toward greatness.

I can't wait to talk with you!

Berrett-Koehler Publishers

Oct, 2023 β€” Present
As a freelance manuscript reviewer, I provide a written assessment of manuscript drafts that includes development recommendations as well as provide in-manuscript comments and suggestions. My manuscript assessment has been held up by the Managing Director of Editorial as an example as the highest caliber of work for other reviewers and I've been added to Berrett-Koehler's roster for special projects "that require a keener eye and dissection." I worked on the manuscript of "The Laughter Factor" by professional comedian, Adam Christing, which was released in September 2025 to high praise, including being named No. 5 on Forbes List of Books That Expand What Is Possible, and has Penguin Random House distribution. The Managing Director relayed that my feedback on this manuscript was "instrumental."
