Victoria Goldman

Victoria Goldman – Editor

Editing and proofreading books for 20+ years. Specialist experience and expertise in health, self-help, memoir, and crime fiction.

Overview

I have been editing and proofreading fiction and nonfiction for publishers and authors for over 20 years. I love working with first-time authors and more experienced authors to make sure your book is the best it can be.

I have specialist experience and expertise in editing medical, health, self-help, and self-development books, as well as memoir and true crime. My goal is to make sure that your book is easy to understand while retaining your unique writer's voice. My BSc. in Biomedical Science and MSc. in Science Communication are particularly useful when making sure that health information is accurate and easy to read.

I copyedit and proofread all genres of fiction, but especially crime fiction. I am also passionate about helping authors put accurate, believable, and realistic health information into fiction – it's so important to get this right, taking into account your book's setting, characters, and plot.

As the author of three crime novels, I know why it's so important to choose an editor you can trust. I understand the process of creating the best book possible, whether this is for agent and publisher submissions or for self-publishing. Along with your edited manuscript, I'll provide thorough notes, a list of comments and queries, and advice on moving to the next stage of the editing process.

My clients tell me that I am quick, accurate, efficient and enthusiastic, have great attention to detail, and am easy to work with.

Recent client feedback includes:

“Victoria is a very thorough editor, and working with her has been a real pleasure. She has great attention to detail, which she brings to every project we've worked on together."

“You wouldn’t find a more competent, diligent proofreader who will go above and beyond to make sure your book is in the best shape it can be.”

"Victoria handled my work with an impeccably sharp eye, with vigilance and care."

“Victoria has a great eye for detail and fact checking and is always ready on deadline. She’s a joy to work with. I’d highly recommend her services.”

I am a member of the Guild of Health Writers, the Medical Journalists' Association, the Society of Authors, the Alliance of Independent Authors (ALLi), the Crime Writers Association (CWA), and Patient Information Forum.

If your book fits into any of the above genres, I would love to hear from you. Then we can chat about your specific editorial needs and goals and how I can help.
