Verena Rose – Editor

For ten years I was the CFO and Acquisitions Editor for a mid-sized publishing house. Over those ten years I reviewed manuscript submissions, offered and negotiated contracts, and as a result worked with numerous authors as their Primary Editor. As Primary Editor I was responsible for providing the Developmental Edit along with providing other suggestions for making the manuscript better. In an effort to stay current in the world of mystery, crime, and historical fiction, I am a member of MWA, CWA, and HNS.

While working with an author, I may discuss with them the title of the book, ideas for subsequent books, if I'm editing a series manuscript. Authors are always welcome to contact me before, during, and after my editing process. Additionally, I am always open to discuss with the author any changes that I suggest, after all it is their work and vision.

I have edited the manuscripts of several award nominated and/or winning authors such as: Tina deBellegarde, Elizabeth Crowens, Annette Dashofy, Kathleen Ernst, and Richard Koreto.

In addition to the above authors the following is a list of other published authors that I have edited: Peter W.J. Hayes, Susan Lehmann, M.M. Lindvall, Skye Alexander, Sharon Lynn, Kelly Oliver, Katherine Ramsland, Nancy Cole Silverman, Laraine Stephens, Nina Wachsman, and Marlie Wasserman to name a few.

I worked diligently to give the authors the best possible edit, in the time required. Over the course of editing many authors more than once, a great working collaboration developed.
