Overview
I’m Terry, an author and ghostwriter with 20 published books, many of them Sunday Times bestsellers.
I’ve worked with actors, comedians, pop stars, musicians, broadcasters, a DJ and a doctor, helping them shape their stories into books that feel honest, entertaining and unmistakably their own. I’ve worked for many of the major publishers, sometimes behind the scenes, sometimes with a co-writing credit, but always with the same goal: to capture the author’s voice and tell their story with clarity, warmth and emotional truth.
I’ve also collaborated, with full credit, on two Sunday Times bestselling YA novels. My own novel, Becoming Nancy, was shortlisted for the Polari First Book Prize and became a major stage musical, opening in the US before its UK debut at Birmingham Rep in 2024. I’m currently commissioned to write the book and songs for another new musical.
My background in music, both pop and musical theatre, has also shaped the way I listen. As a vocal producer and coach, I learned to notice rhythm, tone, humour, vulnerability and all the tiny details that make a voice feel real. That instinct carries directly into my ghostwriting.
When I work with someone, I see myself as their champion. The book is yours, and my job is to help you say what you want to say in the clearest, most compelling way possible, while making the process feel relaxed, safe and organic. I’m known for bringing calm and good humour to the room, especially when the material is sensitive, difficult or emotionally complex.
I offer structure, discretion and care from our first conversation to the final draft, but above all, I’ll help you find your story’s voice and heart.
