The following contains, themes and mentions of mental health.
They’ve sewn my heart together,
But it is all a lie,
Can you not see?
The stitches are bare,
For all to see,
I am nothing,
Can’t you see?
Step back,
One, two, three
Quick, make an excuse,
All is fine,
Oh, such a pretty lie.
They’ve fixed my eyes,
Yet my vision is blurry,
There is nothing to see,
Nothing to do,
I am nothing,
Why can’t you see?
Fixed my jaw,
But the words,
No longer come out of me,
They are strapped up,
Inside of me,
I am nothing more,
Why won’t you see that?!
They’ve fixed every part of me,
At least that’s what they’ve told me.
Look what I have,
Stitches and scars,
It is all a lie.
They’ve sewn my heart,
My chest even has a scar,
But I break and break,
Until nothing is here,
Just a hole,
In my chest.
Haven’t I told you?
I am nothing more.
I am broken,
I am scarred,
Why can’t you see?
They’ve fixed my eyes,
But all of it is a lie,
Darkness is all I find.
They’ve straightened my jaw,
But it is all a lie,
See my mouth,
Watch it move,
Yet, hear no words.
Look at me!
Watch me breathe!
Watch me fall!
Watch me dance!
Watch me break!
Look at me!
See what I am!
I am fragile,
Just look at my thorns.
I am fine,
Why won’t you just let me be?
Go away!
There is nothing to see!
A broken heart,
Shattered and torn,
Broken eyes,
Cut and blurred,
Broken jaw,
Stretched and curved.
Look at me!
See, I am not whole,
I need something,
To fill this hole.
I am not fixed,
Not even close,
Here on this earth,
I trip, and I fall,
I breathe, and I sink
Look at me,
I am nothing more.
Look at me!
Watch as I wither,
For nothing in this world,
Can make me ever feel whole.
I am nothing,
Why can’t you see?
There is nothing more of me.
Just leave me here,
For all to see.
I am alone,
Truly it is so,
Nothing in this world,
Will ever, ever make me whole.
Perhaps now,
My tears will fill this,
Very endless hole.
I am stricken,
My breath,
It is no longer my own.
I am stolen,
Watch me move,
Yet it is not my own.
I am broken,
Nothing more.
I walk and walk,
Until I slip to the floor,
Here I lie,
Won’t you just let me die?
Here in this place.
But here you are,
So full of light,
But my smile cannot hide,
This endless emptiness.
I am nothing,
They have all told me so,
Why do you try?
There’s nothing to fix this hole.
Don’t you bother,
I’ll never be whole.
You say you are near,
But my heart will not follow,
I am stuck,
In this muddle.
I am broken,
I am drained,
Barely any of me is left.
I am nothing,
Why don’t you believe me?
There is nothing to save me.
You have given me everything,
Yet I can not give all of me,
I am sorry, truly so.
God, will you wait for me?
My light has dimmed,
I am worn,
I am weary.
God, just give up on me.
I am too broken,
Matted and bruised,
Everyone sees it too,
So, why not you?
Look here down at me,
I am nothing,
Why haven’t you given up on me?
I walk, and I walk,
But all I feel is empty,
I turn to you full of nothing,
Just an endless void,
In my heart,
Here it is,
For all to see.
Show me how to be,
I feel not alive,
I am dead inside,
Have the darkness let me be.
All is a lie,
There is nothing for me.
It is wrong,
There is no hope for me,
I am nothing,
Why can’t you see?
See right here,
In my chest,
The hole they told me
They fixed up,
It is still here inside.
With nothing to fill,
Soon my blood will run dry,
I’ll be nothing more,
I may be just barely alive.
Look at me,
Watch my eyes,
Bruised and blurred
Can’t you see?
What is wrong with me?
I am blind,
There is no light,
All is right,
All is wrong,
What is wrong?
I am blind,
Can’t you see?
Here I am,
My speech is gone,
Nothing to say,
Nothing to do.
I am just here,
That will just do.
Gouge out my eyes!
Snap my jaw!
How about my heart?!
Rip it out!
Take it apart!
Take it all!
I don’t need it now!
Leave me dry!
I am nothing now!
Here I sleep,
I am nothing more,
No point, no nothing,
No, not anymore.
Here I lay to rest,
Oh, come take me, Death!
I open my eyes,
There is light to see,
How can it be?
My eyes are new!
My heart and jaw too!
I am made new!
Look at me, now!
I am brand new!
Not broken and bruised,
I am beautiful, loved,
Oh, I am brand new!
Here I stand at the edge,
I am here, yes, I am.
The darkness has lied,
I am brand new!
Look at me!
Let us celebrate!
Of the Christ on the cross!
Who shed his blood,
To make me brand new!
Wash off these tears,
I am brand new!
My savior has saved me.
I am new!
How beautiful!
He has sewn me up,
Wash off the mud,
And held me close.
I am found,
I am brand new.
Now, look at me!
Here I stare,
My hands,
Scraped and bruised,
My heart,
Broken and beaten,
I am not strong,
No, not of my own.
But I know my shepherd,
And my shepherd knows me,
So whenever I get lost,
I know just the one,
Who will come,
To rescue me.
