My story is titled “I should have known better; this was a delusional housewife.
There once lived a delusional housewife who often hunched over tables, neglecting her own children and her entire house. Also, the housewife was exhausted. She was in her middle age. She encountered health issues and other chronic stress. She did not have enough time and energy. Also, she often talked about the magazine articles and the podcast. There were positive reactions to anything she posted on Facebook.
I felt obligated to always point out that they were all my family and friends.
However, last year she made submissions to the writing contest. She put her work out there for actual strangers to see and judge. Most people tried to stop her most of the time, but she didn’t win. She was not even given an acknowledgement, but she was proud of herself regardless of the conditions.
She had the unfettered audacity to think that she could write a Novel. Not just to think that she could write, but to mind you. Also, she actually started writing one.
The ludicrous, delusional, and harebrained ideas she swore that this menopause thing disintegrated any remaining shred of sanity that she was left.
Also, she tried to reason with her at least to get the house sorted out. She does not like house chores. I should have known better in choosing such a housewife because she often left unfolded laundry, not ironed, and dirty floors and unwashed dishes,
However, shouldn’t that be our priority? She counters that if she waits until all these things are done. She will never have time to write since they will always need doing. Also, the audacity- no doubt she read from self–help books and from Inspirational speakers on the Internet.
She gave me the look she gave her kids. Also, she was not going to abandon her kids to pursue such an impossible dream.
Also, her shoulders squeezed up to her ears at that time. I also leaned into it. They were all loved, fed, clothed, and educated. She went after her dreams and did hard things as usual.
The housewife was looked out for and then protected from pain and disappointment. Also, I don't want her to fail. I don’t want her dream to crumble around her.
However, what are the odds of getting a book published and actually selling it? Not great.
There are so many people with more talent, experience, and resources. The housewife can’t compete. Isn’t it better than a dream? A dream will make her happy. Also, the internet and social media can be so cruel. Whenever I bring this up, she actually hesitates. The housewife scrolls on her phone and then busies herself with some task or another. Also, with some necessary things, she is glad to get them done.
However, her mind strays back to the story of what actually happened in her life.
Actually, what comes next? How to resolve some conflict issues. Also, another idea for a story clamors for some attention. Also, it can’t be about them, the housewife responds. The housewife watches the wind thrush the trees while her heart does the same to her insides.
Most people in the community and other inhabitants from other communities often admire her tenacity, you might be thinking. Humph.
The housewife tried writing a short story last month. Also with a deadline, she was manipulated into procrastination, but she caught on eventually.
The housewife was excited and determined. She knew exactly what she was doing. The housewife was writing in circles. Also, the housewife believed that she could write a whole novel on “I should have known better, which will be a blessed Novel.”
There was a perfect opportunity to convince the housewife that it wasn’t worth the effort to pick up again. Her husband was warned to stop interfering. This is because they do not want the housewife to be devastated when she fails the writing competition since there is more room for improvement. Also, another surge of delusion has taken hold, and it was painful to watch. However, I did this for myself was her cliché and naïve reply. I only wanted her to see reality, but she insisted that she does not see reality.
Also, the housewife was warped by fear and aversion to pain, effort, and disappointment.
The housewife stopped reading this new age of neuroscience nonsense. Again, the housewife had no choice whatsoever. Also, a little girl with quirky little stories believed in herself so confidently. Again, for the teenager who spent hours lost in books and even started writing a novel, but gave up. For the young man who ached to write but didn’t. Also for the housewife who longs to feel like herself again.
People out there loved the stories of the housewife. Others do not believe such nonsense at all. It then sounds like a bunch of unsuitable, inspiring Instagram quote mumbo jumbo.
In addition, doubt still darkens her eyes, despite this moving speech. The housewife was on mute permanently. Also, the housewife uttered a word of doubt. She even read books on writing. Also, the housewife went on Pinterest, where she wasted time pinning articles on writing that she would never remember to read.
Procrastination is the best teacher, and I should have known better than to inform the housewife.
Good enough, the housewife said. Perfect is impossible, but she was done with perfect.
Also, a smile played at her lips, and her eyes were bright. There was victory when the housewife wrote her first book titled “I should have known better”.
Sometimes a moral lesson came out of the housewife’s book that brought them victory and education.
The housewife was marginally impressed and a smidgen proud of her books.
Finally, the housewife was a menace of reason and caution. Lastly, in the housewife's book on “I should have known better, she gave a vivid Book description about her book, which attracted more people- adults, children, and students to buy her book. The housewife was so generous that she even went to the extent of gifting others who could not afford to buy her book a free copy.
