I rode happily my bicycle, turning the corner with a skid and a squeal, so I was going up to visit my stepdad's old house where I used to live as a kid and I was going up there to relive the memories and I went up to steep hill, walking my bike. And it was mid-afternoon And the lake was at the bottom of the hill down the road that we use to write a Canoe in and the hammock was still swinging from the trees outside on the lawn outside his house and the old junky car was still there and tree. Swing was still just slightly blowing in the wind. And the old stump that he had carved out steps was still there a little moldy and overgrown with weeds, but so I looked over to the neighbors where they had left him the house and the light was on but I ignored that and just went in the back of that house, I was near. Where I lived and I looked Downhill in the back that led down to another road and I walked down there toward an old abandoned building. That I always wanted to go look at and I looked in it and the door opened. And it worked then. There was an old dresser and I looked in it. And the windows were all broken out and there was junk everywhere and weeds. And the dresser had a coin in it and a box. So I put the coin in the box and brought it. Put it in my pocket and left. That would be my souvenir. So I went next to the other house on the other side that he owned that we also lived in for a period of time. And I went through there and someone said get out that's my house and I said, okay, and I left and then I went back down the road caught the bus home and I said, wow, I remember those days. They were fun but I had to keep going. So I went and visited my other house in another town that I had lived in that, I had a paper route I went around seeing if anyone still lived there that I remembered, but it seemed like it was all new neighbors. And I don't know all the parents of all my friends in school that I went to out there, if that was them someone else, everyone. Moved or? Died even so I said hi to the one neighbor that was still there and asked him how his wife and kids were and he said. Hey, how are you doing? I remember you Kara right? And I said yeah, it's me Kara and then I went over to the other town. Where I also lived near the park and I went and bought some sardines like we used to have sardines and crackers in the park near the playground and I said, oh, that was those were the good old days and then I went downtown to another house I had lived at and I said, yeah, those are the days I was sanding somebody's hallway for prepping for paint, I got paid, that was the job I had. And I even babysat the baby there. But so then I went to the other house that held memories in Midtown in the same city and I said, yeah, that was one of the most happy days of my life when I lived in that house. It was fun and then I went downtown even more where we were when I was 5 when we moved to the city from the country and I was like. You I remember that day? All the balloons came up from the church they let up the balloons. In the air with helium , all the colored balloons , I said. Then it repeats.
