"I should have known better" I chuckled in disbelief as I was staring down the double barrel of a Hawthorne 12 pistol. "You're one of them" I said in a low disappointing tone.
I slowly stood up from the bed. The door was shut with the party still going on, on the other side. I flickered my gaze towards the window. We were on the second floor, so I wouldn't get hurt as bad. Maybe a broken arm at the least.
"Don't you even fucking think about jumping out that window!" He hissed.
His light brown eyes that once were soft and yearning, were now dark and filled with bloodlust.
"Rashaad..." I said calmly. "You don't gotta do this!" I said as I slowly surrendered my hands in the air.
"Shutup!" he snapped." Now you are going to come with me quietly!" He demanded.
I had no choice but to comply. I nodded my head and started for the door. Rashaad was right behind me with the gun hidden inside his black jean jacket pocket, but was still aimed at me. As we squeezed through the sea of people, I scanned around the room for an escape. Every exit was block with drunk motherfuckers. We continued to the front door and then finally outside. People were spread out all over the lawn, talking and laughing loudly. None of them noticing what was going on.
"Yoooo! Wussup Shad!" A voice shouted from across the street.
"Wuddup doe!' He greeted back.
A soon as he turned his focus away from me, I darted away. I heard him curse and chase behind me. I made a b-line into the pitch black woods so that I could lose him there. I didn't want this to become more of a problem than it already has. After running for about five minutes, I stopped to catch my breath. I was slower and weaker in this form.
"Nyelle!" he shouted. His voice was low and unhinged.
I couldn't sense him at all and transforming was going to take way too long. I started running again after gaining my bearings. Then, there was a loud bang followed by a sharp pain that tore through my leg. I looked down at the blistery and bubbling wound that was forming on my thigh as I crashed into the ground.
"Dammit!" I screamed. The pain was unbearable.
Rashaad appeared in front of me with night vision goggles chilling on his face. Where the fuck did he even get those! While I was winded and fighting to catch my breath, this man didn't even break a sweat. He kneeled down next to me and pressed the Hawthorne 12 into my forehead. The cold metal burned against my skin. I screamed out in agony and begged for him to stop.
"This piece right here was my grandfathers" he said while holding his gun up to the sky, admiring it.
The moonlight glistened off the smooth, silver, steel surface. Rashaad smiled and kissed the side of it.
"Isn't she a beauty?" He asked in awe. "My grandfather passed it down to me before I killed him ."
Everything on my body was beginning to hurt. I was gonna die if I didn't transform to heal this leg.
"Why are you doing this?" my voice cracked.
"I'm a hunter. Why else?" he replied.
"How long have you known about me?"
"I've always known" he shrugged indifferently.
"Then why did you keep me alive for two years!?" I snarled. " Two fucking years Rashaad!"
"I wasn't ordered to kill you." He paused and then continued. "I also wanted to know what it was like to be balls deep in one of you" He chuckled as he violently dry humped air with a huge grin spread across his face.
"You're fucking sick!" I spat, still dying from the agonizing pain in my leg.
And what did he mean when he said he wasn't ordered to kill me? This night shifted from good vibes to a fucking nightmare. I've never expected Rashaad to be a hunter. Hunters are hired killers to kill anyone from beyond the human realm. I've spent my many years here being careful, to blend in with society. I guess I did a shit job at it.
"It's fucking sick that a creature like you is walking around and pretending to be human. It's actually disgusting."
"It's disgusting but you fucked me" I chuckled weakly. " I bet you'll fuck just about anything with a hole."
He pressed his gun into my wound. I winced at the sharp sudden pain. "Don't piss me off" He growled.
A loud ringing startled the both of us. Rashaad answered his phone quickly and stepped away for a moment.
"Be a good girl and stay here." I flicked him off as he walked away.
I felt my consciousness slipping. I wanted to know who hired him to hunt me. It was time for me to turn the tables. I strained to force myself to transform enough to at least heal my leg. The wound started to close as my bone, muscle, tissue and skin came together like new. I thugged out the pain until my leg was fully healed. I moved it around slowly to get blood circulating and slowly stood up.
"I thought I told you to be good" Rashaad shouted as he came rushing back over to me.
"Look, I just want to know who hired you?. They must've paid you a lot right?"
He just looked at me in silence. He had the eyes of a demon, and I've seen demons in the flesh.
"I can double whatever they are paying you" I offered desperately.
He stepped closer with the gun pointed at me once again. I moved back, as he moved towards me, until I was backed into a tree with no space to run. He brought the gun up to his mouth and licked it with a wide, flat tongue, from the base all the way to the tip then stopped.
"I do this shit for sport" His face twisted in a grin and he began laughing hysterically.
I couldn't believe I let a crazy ass man like this catch me slipping. I had to get that damn gun away from him. It was evident that I wasn't going to get any answers from this psychopath.
"Sadly, I was told that you are needed alive.."
"Could've fooled me" I snarked. "Didn't yo ass just blow my leg off and burn up my face?"
"They only said alive. They didn't say what state you should be in."
My skin burned as he dragged the gun on the side of my face once again. I bit through the pain, waiting for the right moment to gouge out his eyes through those goofy ass night vision goggles.
"You have beautiful, soft, brown skin" he growled. "I think that's the reason why I was drawn to you from the moment I first saw you." He licked his lips slowly and sensually.
That used to work on me before I found he was a bat shit, psychopathic, unhinged, maniac.
"Now you're talking out the side of your neck" I winced at burning sensation left on my cheek.
As I prepared to strike until I felt a warm, wet, sensation hit my face. I glanced up at Rashaad, who now had a pointed end of a Katana sticking out of his head with his eyeball stuck at the end of it. He slowly slumped over and collided to the ground.
"You okay?" a soft deep voice spoke. "We made it just in time."
I slowly looked up and instantly and my eyes widened at the familiar face I haven't seen in ages. Those handsome green eyes were the first thing I've noticed. He pulled his Katana from Rashaad and swung off the blood.
"Maximus!" I cried as I embraced him tightly in my arms.
Behind him were my father, Julius and my mother, Nyla.
I ran to them both and hugged them.
"Oh my Nyelle!" My mother broke down in tears.
I haven't seen my family in fifty years. One day, I was taking a walk under our two moons, and accidentally wandered from my home world, Lumeria, into the realm of humans, and became trapped once the gate closed. I had no idea of how to get back, or where any of the other gates were located. Luckily, the human realm's time moved similarly to ours. Only difference is that Lumerians ages slower. I spent the first few years trying to track down others like me to see who had the answers, but no dice. I spent the years up until now, trying to live a normal life as a human and gave up trying to go home. Maximus took a closer look at the burns on my face. I seen his body tense up and anger well up in his eyes.
"It's okay" I assured him softly.
"How did you get mixed up with a nutcase like him?' Dad asked.
I explained to them every detail of how I met Rashaad two years ago, up to the events tight occurred tonight. In exchange, my parents told me about hidden gates to our would. That's how they were able to get here. They told me that they came here not too long after I did, and searched high and low. Maximus sent many of his crows all over to help track me. That explained why I'd been seeing a lot of crows around me recently. We traveled a few hours to the next gate that was located inside of a cave, somewhere on the mountains. I was happy to go back home, reunited with my family that I've missed dearly.
