Same as it ever was.
Bam.💥
Reality may bite. A rolling stone may gather no moss. We may have forgotten the steps we used to take. We awake awakened that we forgot to pay attention to some of the details. The specifics. The minutiae. The haze. The days and the haze all blend together into a maze.
We look up.
We look down.
We look ahead and wonder how we got to this point and are pensively thinking back to before. We knew we were wary by nature. Knew we had to stay the course of hyper vigilance in the face to face duties of the face to face interactions laden with sketchy motivations and intentions.
Tough stuff. Exhaustion causes shut down, space out, zone out. The coping mechanism kicks in and is prudent and necessary as well as unintentional. We scan the memory banks to ensure any potential negligence gave way to over-compensation of feelings and actions. The ultimate maths equation that keeps the mind racing after the numbers and sensibilities fail to add up. Or down.
Punctiliously agreeing to end the madness in order to stop the madness once and for all. Whatever may have happened to rational judgment when at times we hear the injudicious words that fly out of the mouths of the filter-less? We cannot believe we just heard what we heard, saw what we saw, and desperately tried to unhear the grunts and groans and push the vibrations out of our minds.
We look up.
We look down.
We try to look ahead with joyful intentions.
Instead we wonder with harebrained stupidity, how we got to this place of the seemingly infinite never ending ness. We recall, even remember, hearing and learning the sage advice, however implementing the logical presents as impossible. The knowledge we gained over time in engaging in the miserable always seems to give way to logical clearheaded sane-ness.
We “come to” too late and realize the gut takes the punch. We realize we were too busy to see the forest for the trees. Fixated on the minutiae that the bigger picture is lost. Worry has a way of jumbling the best of our minds. Same as it ever was. We just got so used to it working in our favor, we figured it was the path of least resistance. Thus. Someone, somewhere gets lost in the shuffle. The deck of cards? Has been dealt in high favor of the high roller.
We look up.
We look down.
We think someone else will “take care of it.” Take care of us. How can this be when all along the way we shunned and retreated and isolated our innards from all “the others.” We missed and mixed the point and the many pertinent points along the way. Appreciation of the bigger pictures is very difficult for some who have successfully zeroed in on the task at hand with the fireball nature of continuous success.
”After all, who among us hasn’t gotten bogged down in the details of a situation or a relationship, to the point we lose touch with the larger purposes which give meaning to those very details.” (twd)
We look up.
We look down.
We begin to see light through the densely patterned leaves and branches. “If we allow ourselves to look more closely, we might discover that the “small stuff” can be quite big and fulfilling. (twd)
The small stuff can be as important as the big picture stuff and vice versa. We can sweat the small stuff and jump head first right into the bigger picture by missing the specifics. Either way, good or bad, looking at the bright side of a life on the narrow path is one best taken. There is a lot of work to be done. Hanging onto the muck is only going to muck up future success. Yes. We gotta go for what is right, in the moment and in the long run, but shutting down and selling out will probably not make tomorrow any better unless a discipline of today day is firmly established.
We look up.
We look down.
We have a glimmer of hope. We have a glimmer of hope in the bigger picture without forgetting the trees need watering and tending to with truth and care. Tough stuff. Yes. Responsibility toward one another is truth and care. We are all created equal in the moment and in the long run. There is beauty, power and potential in “the little picture.” (rbh) There is beauty, power and potential in our big wide world. There are many kinds of thinkers and many kinds of doers.
We engage in ways that work both in favor of progress with success and also confusion with set backs. There are moments when irrationally meets logaic and says, “Hello. How are you? Let’s work together for the greater good.” The mess that is still behind us IS still behind us but the re-org has begun and we must all take a breather.
We look up.
We look down.
We put faith in strong leadership. We feel as though we have been put through the “ringer.” We rely on strength and intelligence and fortitude to keep on keeping on. The good news, is when one person steps up to the plate, surrounds us with laser focus and the steadfast ability to seal the deal, staying strong is a non-negotiable. It is important to realize the other guy is waiting in the wings for his slice of the pie. Don’t let him or her eat your lunch, your piece of the pie.
Avoiding the food fights at all costs? There is only so much rice any one person cares to consume—not a superb bargaining chip. Until judgment day, what will arrive to the forefront of the shelves and doors of our lives is anybody’s guess. For now we can only chew on the possibilities like there is no tomorrow.
We look up.
We look down.
We are not only proud and careful of the forests and the trees here on our soil. We should be proud of one another for giving up the short-sightedness of the moment and support the forward movement of a life well lived for the whole not just the few. It can happen, we simply must do our own small stuff so that the possibilities become endless for any one willing to take a chance on love instead of hate.
We look up.
We look down.
We realize we are not utterly lost anymore. We are learning every day how we collectively got here and when we were being denied the truth. Now. We are hearing some hard truths. We aren’t taking it anymore. Now. Through a strong decision maker leading the way, we are giving back in the right way.
