It's been a five days I'm being casted out by my own self. I being lied about the world outside the house they refer it as the bad place. I'm still on my bike with my other friend Ron. Giving too much attention to the sewer of the old complex near the place I was living on. The area now is ours, gives us source of living, especially the cocs Cocs are some medicine we have, sort kind of substance to keep our mind still and to have no fear to do something bad for having some food, especially the good nutrients. Last time We just got some oranges while our stomatch still feel empty, but it feels nothing now, no pain at all. The ground is good, some cars are not us, but just dream it as us. Our second hideout is the church, the same church near the market we use to steal some fruits, play with the dogs, and sometimes if need to, take some living fishes there, it's colorful but not poisonous. "It should be a good place for us to sleep," Ron looks around the bushes. We still on the complex, with some empty buildings. It used to be a company they try to make something worth, but it's now closed down. "I try to make a cult," I said. "Never dream of it," Ron doesn't try to give up on it, but try to find a book to learn about it. "We cannot live like this forever, right?" I try to speak some sense. "Get another friend?" Ron asks.
"Uneasy to trust," I reply. "No one's there," I reply. "What are you talking about?" Ron aks. "No other friends we can put some trust with, but with our own believe," I said. "You mean it by a principle?" He asks.
"Nothing, but without some believe, we both die as well," I speak some sense to him.
"You try to be optimistic, Ron?" I try to assure him by question. "I should have," he said. "Just try to put some imagination inside your head," my mouth just slipped nowhere. "What kind?" He's being curious.
"Some palace of the building," I look on the sky, imagine all of it. "We will get it anyway, friend," I speak gentler.
"Some kind of abundance you referring of?" He asks confusely. "One of it," I answer shortly.
Ron looks too scared, with some cap on his head, just to makes him not scared at all but fails at once.
I put some bolt and break the glass one of the car, Red brown Mustang, V-19, the wheels are good.
"You sure it's fine?" He asks. "You can count on me," I smirk on the front window.
We have some martial arts magazine inside. It's not a stolen car, the whole building is ours.
The security looks confused, just like my mind but I just ignore it. We don't need to get the food storage, we will always get it anyway. Last time four kilos of bread with some raspberry inside, and the baker doesn't even argue. We almost never have a gang we count on, but some cliques have believe on us, more than anything.
"Where we will go?" Ron tries to look on every sidewalks of the city. "The brown coat members?" He asks.
"Yeah, the only we can rely on with some supplies," I assure him. The brown coat gang has some ammunities, enough to fight their only rival, blue collar gang, the rich kids decide to not go to the college because of laziness. Some of them not smart enough to learn some anatomy, but we all quite skilled on it, in a way.
Me and Ron go out from the car, and find our another friend named Josh, the one with a bible, bald with beard, but sweet inside like a pure child. And another one Dustin, a strategist who plays chess everyday, thick glasses but with plump shoulders. We gain some muscles to survive here, not just playing.
"You come early," Dustin asks but not at the same time. "We both hungry," I answer shortly. "Right on time then," Joseph arrives. He is the leader of the group, middle-aged man with some wisdom looking face, the one kind of storytelller pictures within. "Steal some fruit on the grassmarket," I answer directly. I'm a direct and easy man, I put my decision, I get things done.
Me and Ron decide to go with our bikes, with Josh being carried by Ron, he’s a scared kid but full of good suggestion. “Maybe we need to go to the front line, to make sure no one disturb us," he said. “No shit, sherlock,” Ron replies. We just see every dust and sands everywhere, we are on the south part of the America, the security system is quite weak, so we can get anything we want easier. But there are some group of bandits just going nowhere with horse, we call them, “The Giant Men,” the horsemen with their feet from the horse if we look them from the distance. They still carry the classic rifles, very difficult to refill the ammo since they need to clean it first before fill it with another dirty ammo, and sometimes doesn’t work if the metal is too rotten.
“We need to prevent us being chased by the giant men,” Josh once again.
“We need to put something on their eyes with some spices,” I try to match his suggestion.
“I think it’s a good idea,” I said. We just get there with our left hand still prepare in our pocket. A classic way to be ready as the gun duel back in the mid 1800s.
We just go ahead to the grassmarket; We have no idea what we should do right now. I feel my balls a little bit off. But on the market there is a girl who oftenly work there, giving some fruits and checks the weight. “Five pounds, sir,” she said it to a random fat guy who immediacy grabs it in hurry. A little bit off, I’m a little bit shocked with unusual view right now. “Suppose there is no ghost,” I said to myself, but Josh and Ron look at me. “Something wrong dude? You used to be very vigilant,” Josh mocks me. “Shut up Josh,” I said. But there is something off I’m sure about it, the view looks like I get back to another different era. Probably the same way The Giant Men start their debut as the bandits. Maybe that’s why they use their horses. “Guys, listen closely,” they immediately walks closer to me, it’s quite normal to hide some secret here. “What is it, Dave?” They suddenly call me Dave, God who am I anyway?” I ask to myself. But I don’t focus on it, instead what happen to us? Are we travel the time-space? That means we stuck on this year. “But maybe it’s a little bit fun, Dave,” even Josh now calling me Dave. Man but I think it’s not that bad. Our motorbike still fine, not changes into different beings. “Anyway, just keep the mission rolling, guys,” I’m being simple again. Three of us put a gun on them. But something weird happens again. The grocery men just look at us with a blank stare, nothing really special. “You guys see something?” Ron and Josh look at me. “Nothing, Dave. They still silent anyway,” Josh stays quiet. “We don’t know what to do next, then?” I ask them both. “Just take the fruits,” Ron grasps on those right on time. Man I don’t know what happen, but the place is colder, not only the situation, but the weather as well. Because of this nonsense, I’m going back to Joseph immediately. “Why so hurry, man?” Josh asks while still on the front seat on Ron’s bike. “I need to look after Joseph,” my eyes look forward. “What happen to him?” Ron asks. “Just to make sure if something different happens,” I said. Ron and Josh just being quiet again, follow my lead.
We arrive on our hideout, and everything still the same. “So, the students return,” Joseph looks at us deeply. But something different I can see from his eyes, it’s a blank stare, with focus on the prize. What kind of prize? I’m still think about it. “There is a little ball he carries, looks like an apple, but made of iron. “What is it, Joseph?” I ask him. “Something very brilliant,” he said. Dustin still there with his chess, looks on the front as if there is someone playing with him.
